Is Dawson hurt? If not, our captain was passed over for 20 year old Eric Dier. You can pencil in Verts, Kaboul and maybe Vlad and the Argentinian above him on the depth chart. You'd think he would get the message.

He probably thinks he will be able to get back in when we have injuries. The same as happened under AVB. Hopefully we can tie up the deal for MM to push him further down the pecking order.

It wouldn't be the first time that Dawson has been low down the pecking order and has proved that he is a valuable squad member.

I honestly don't know why so many of our fans have turned on him. If he is happy to be a member of the squad and stay loyal then credit to him. He has been in the game long enough to know what he is letting himself in for. If he doesn't play and decides to go in January then I wish him all the best and would applaude him on his return.

He's not good enough now and the club have told him they want to move him on.

Him staying does no one any good so I can see why fans are turning on him, he's being detrimental to us moving forward.

It's not like we're ripping up his contract and he's retiring, he's got options of several teams, same money or more, and more importantly he'll play a lot more too.

Appreciate upheaval for his family and out of his comfort zone but that's the life of a footballer and he's essentially choosing to be like a number 2 or even 3 gk, just taking the wages knowing he'll not play.

If he didn't leave, would people on here leave him out of the squad completely?

I think the only quality that makes Senderos better is that you don't dislike Senderos, can't think of any other reason why you would think he's better than Dawson other than that:D

So you haven't got an answer to the question then.

The club seemed to think he was good enough to offer him a three year contract only 10 months ago, seems reasonable to me that he wants to honour that.

The club only gave him a new deal so that he's worth more to sell, we do it all the time with players.

Lots of clubs do.

Tbh it was a mistake putting him on the subs bench at West Ham. I think he would have really got the message had Poch favoured Verts or Veljkovic.

But by all accounts he gives 100%, trains hard and has a great attitude. To not put him on the bench would be a mistake.

As harsh as it is for the fella I want him to leave. I think two years ago my heart over ruled my head. Admittedly since then my heart was proven right at times but as a whole I wish my head had its way. There's no doubt that Dawson is a loyal servant, a good leader, a good defender and above all else a great guy but the sad reality is he isn't up to the standards or at least style that we require in a defender.

Very harsh considering he is literally 6 months away from a well deserved testimonial but sometimes you have to go with your head or even your gut feeling, my heart still says "STAY DAWSON, PLEASE!" But everything else, even my gut says it's time to move him on, bring in someone more mobile and a better reader of the game.

How Dawson gets all this stick while Kaboul gets none of it is beyond me. He's lost much of his pace and his positional sense has deteriorated since his return from injury, and yet Dawson get's the stick. Hmm..

As far as we know, nobody has bid for Kaboul so he is not digging his heels in nor obstructing us purchasing a replacement and fundamentally, he is still a better defender than Dawson.

Sorry, but no he isn't. Any opinions on why nobody is trying to get Kaboul off us and yet both Hull and QPR have previously tried to sign Michael? I think the truth may be staring us in the face, whether we choose to acknowledge it or not.

Dawson is English ? Or Kaboul hasn't yet proven he has completely recovered from his injuries ?
