Kaboul should be gone before Daws

Kaboul did look very rusty last season, but that's no surprise given the length of his lay off. There is plenty of scope for him to recover his form. Dawson's limitations on the other hand can't be sorted. The truth is that he gives 110% all the time but doesn't suit the style of play anymore. I won't moan if he stays because he's been so loyal for so long, but if a move comes off that works for everybody I'd be delighted.

On Lamela: "The £27.5m signing from Roma made just 17 appearances for Spurs during a difficult debut season which accumulated in his omission from the Argentina squad for the World Cup."

Do journalists even have to pass an English exam? I got a D in English Language and even I know the word he's looking for is 'culminated'.

Anyway, if Dawson does go I'll be disappointed. I feel he got a lot of flack by fans who saw what they wanted in our defence(Rose and Dawson always at fault) but there are plenty that still appreciated him too.

Anyone else remember everyone singing "Dawson for England" on the last day of the 09-10 season? It was whilst the player of the year was announced and luckily he got it or the winner would've felt a bit silly accepting the award as we were all signing Dawson's name. He's been a great player for us and he's a great guy too.

Dawson and Rose got plenty of flack because they were p*ss poor. Vertonghen wasn't much better and Kaboul was either reasonable or poor (likely due to being rusty). Chiriches alike had several below par games but in others he was very good.

Dawson's had some excellent seasons but 4 years have passed since he was our rock and he no longer suits our style of play and struggles due to his lack of pace. The club should remain loyal to someone who is coming back after a long lay off (Kaboul) but if a player is becoming a liability (Dawson, Rose, Lennon, Dembele to an extent), they're well within their rights to release/sell them.

True though Daws was a different beast with King as his partner :(.

There's not much scope for Kaboul to recover his form next season, he will never be the same player. He's a King, a Woodgate, a Hargreaves.

You can only be sure of that after the event. I remember when people were saying Gazza was finished.

I would not have a problem with Keeping Daws on the books as a backup option but if he wants to go and get regular football elsewhere then that's also fine.

By my understanding, he has scar tissue in his damaged meniscus. Unfortunately that does nothing but degrade, while a cruciate ligament (as in Gazza's case) can be repaired.

If we could somehow make about 20m from the sales of Dawson, Livermore and Defoe that would be pretty damn good business.

All I know is that after watching England play they sure could have used someone like Dawson, even Dawson himself, as they definitely lacked heart and passion. I believe we will miss that heart and passion if he goes

Dawson and Bassong had a great season at the back when King was having a bad season with injuries. Anyway I was just reminiscing about when Dawson was a fan favourite.

I wish it was the case man but it's medically impossible with current technology/medicine

It would be incredible business. You mix in potential sales of Sigurdsson, Lennon, BAE, and Falque, and you're looking at 40 million pounds of outgoing sales in 2014 that should all be re-invested in the squad. That buys you Remy (8 million), Moreno (11 million) and Rodriguez (20 million)! We'd be sorted with that alone and we'd make a profit!

Lloris

Walker Moreno Vertonghen Rodriguez

Sandro

Paulinho Eriksen

Lamela Adebayor Remy

Looks like we can rule Moreno out ... he's just gone off on a stretcher.

We could have no long-serving players soon- and that's not good.

I agree.

I've found it a bit harder to get into supporting Spurs recently. Part of that is with King retiring and Bale leaving we don't have any long-serving players in the 1st team other than Kyle Walker and I guess Rose.

The long serving players either aren't that likeable or squad players.

I think I'll get over it once I start seeing us play good football again.
