R.I.P. Deano.

Was also in the Paxton for his debut in that crazy game vs. United. And earlier in the season (or the season before?) when he came to play us with Southampton and was an absolute colossus at center-back for them.

Taken far too young.

Absolutely disgusting. Sickening in fact. Ban for life for that.

Nothing sickening IMO to think that the wrong person got punished by the Gods for behaving well.

"Only the good die young" as they sing in the song.

Terrible news, no age to die. Feel bad for the guy and those close to him. At least he got to live the dream of being a professional footballer and will be remembered.

did you make this post so you would get your red rep back?

Come on this is only football, people dying is far beyond any thing that goes on during a football match or someones playing career.

While we all dislike Campbell for what he did to the club, it was his decison and his career choice (the club never should have enable it to happen either)

It was ten years ago, to say its ok to wish he had died is just stupid. Campbell being alive has no baring on Richards death, it;s not a matter of God taking the wrong person.

Dean Richards dying at such a tendor age is a tragedy in it;s own right, and I feel terribly for his family and those close to him. Sol Campbell has nothing to do with this, the fact he was even brought into the discussion was sick and disrespectful both to Richards (as it detracts from the thread dedicated to paying respects to him) and life in general (that people would be wishing death on someone else, especially over something as petty as who he chose to play for 10 years ago, let it go...it's really not that important.)

To beleive that somebody deserves death because they chose to leave your football team for a rival is disgusting. In turn defending it's just as bad. Be ashamed you pethetic little man.

Really sad stuff - generally quite shocking. 36 is nothing.

He'll get a stadium wide round of applause if they do that & not the silence) at the Wolves match. The clubs should give the match fee to his family...if they can do that with league games & not just testimonials etc.

RIP.

I will give him a massive respectful applause next week at Wolves. I remember being frustrated with him when he was with us, missing games thrugh ear-ache. I think the frustatrion stemed from the fact we really needed him, and that shows the measure of his abilities, And who would have known that the problems he was sufferring then, would tragically lead to this fatal end. Rip big man
