22 goals in 42 games is a very good record and Crouch can be proud of that, but up there with Greaves? Greaves scored 44 in 57, only outscored by Lineker and Charlton and has a much better goal per game than either of them or any of the other very high scorers for England. I appreciate the support for an ex player but don't make a mockery of your own argument with such an outlandish comparison.I'll never understand why Crouch wasn't used more for England. His record Is up there with Greaves. And he is much better on the deck than he is given credit for.

Crouch and Greaves in the same sentance?
Greaves is one of the finest strikers to put a pair of boots on, Crouch one of the.... Tallest.
Cracking article, enjoyed reading it.
For me, the biggest farce of England selections were dropping King for Terry in 2004 and of course leaving Defoe at home for the 17 year old Walcott in 2006. Both were appalling decisions and smack of an F.A. driven England team which ever since Hoddle was sacked have been far too involved and clearly to a major detriment to the progress of our national team.
Nothing in that sense will change until the FA learn to get it right with their head coach selections and show some bravery in doing so. Harry should have been given the job instead of Roy, we all know it and if he had then you can bet that we would be playing far better football.
Whether you're bitter or not towards Harry for what happened with Spurs is largely irrelevant. It would be hard to deny that he could do a good job with England and I, for one, would have loved to have seen what he could do.

Didnt Crouch score all those v. Trinidad and Tobago?
At least i have had a good laugh today, comparing Crouch to Greaves is like comparing shit to sugar
No. Tate & Lyle.Would that be Alan Sugar??
