They have to be with the strength of their beers!

Agree, my mate came over a couple of years ago for the tournament at Feyenoord pre-season and we got smashed in Leuven drinking 12% Bush Beer, very tasty. Stella brewery in Leuven is worth a tour too.

For a boring country, Belgium does offer the glutton in us a veritable smorgasbord of delights; Crepes and Waffles covered in sickly maple syrup, fat fried frites dolloped with huge globs of Mayonnaise, exquisitely crafted full-fat chocolates, all washed down with super strength beers brewed by Trappist monks who should know better.

Have they a team in the Europa league??????

Think Genk and Brugge are in Europa and possibly Anderlecht is they drop down from Champions League.

You can still smoke in the Belgian bars I visited recently.
As a non-smoker I cant believe we put up with it for all those years. The smog and smell were awful.

You obviously haven't been in the Bricklayers Arms recently then!

Funnily enough they are 2 players that AVB categorically didn't want us to sign.......

Wasn't the Vertonghen transfer well down the line before AVB was even hired anyway?

And without having time to properly assess the squad, I can't see how he would been of so against Vertonghen etc

Dembele; I'm sure was down to his determination to get Moutinho.

This

I can understand why he didn't want Dembele but Vertonghen was a no brainer

If I met Vertonghen, I'd hold on to him forever. He'd be running up and down the left wing with my arms clasped around his thighs.

Love.

Before Stevie Bateman flounced from Twitter, he reported that AVB didn't want Vertonghen and was trying to pull the plug on the deal to get Carvalho instead. I don't know if that's even close to the truth, but I couldn't believe it at the time and I still find it hard to believe.

I'm glad we signed them both, seems like they are best mates and hopefully helped them settle in (not to mention both awesome players)

Yeah, they seem to be good pals, their twitter accounts always has cross-postings, pictures with each other, etc.

You lucky devil.

The nearest I got to a chat with a Spurs player was David Howell's brother asking me to book him a taxi.

The school teacher? He's called GAreth I think. He works with my mate in a school in London, and has played in goal for the Spurs Legends on occassions.

There you go, useless knowledge.
