Winning teams, successful ones the manYoo's and Chelsea's of the world are built with world class players and not world class personalities.:)

they have used players like o'shea, park etc not world class players, useful players with good personalties which every team needs. without these players the clubs you mentioned would win very little. you need a balance thats my point. a team that you were suggesting of world class *****'s would not win as much as the 2 successful teams you named above

Zokora didn't want to be our O'shea, he wanted to be our Michael Carrick, but he failed miserably.

I would have loved him to stay on as a squad player, but he never.:hello:

The guy was quality, always seem to play with a smile on his face and loved a bit of interaction with the fans. Did well for us, and hopefully he's doing well in Spain.

I wish him the best of luck! He will get a huge cheer when he comes back to the lane! I will be watching Seville, hoping that he gets a goal!

I loved Zokora, unfairly treated by so many Spurs fans.

I had the fortune of meeting him when the ivory coast stayed in my hotel in Tunisia. I remember loads of people getting pictures with him and he was more than happy to. I went up to him and said that I am a spurs fan and he instantly got into a 20 minute conversation with me saying how much he loved the club and that he loved the fans even more!

He was such a nice guy throughout and even gave me a couple of tickets to watch the ivory coast play tunisia. Even the next day I was sitting by the pool and he came over to me asking how I am. He is a true gent. If only more footballers were like him.

By the way I also saw eboue there and just looks like a cock.

Ridiculous comments about his ability. He was very good for us. The fact he isn't Wilson Palacios in style or aggression seems to be enough for some to criticise a player who was more 'Tottenham' than almost anyone on this board.

Anyway, lovely chap and nice to see some positives alongside the durr-brained insults.

sorry but Zok was a crap footballer you can sugar coat it all you like

he'll forever be remembered for the shocking miss in the CC final now if he had of scored that he really would be a ledge BUT he didn't

great athlete, seemed like a decent bloke but by and large a crap football

Don't think much of him as a player, but I'm still very fond of him and wish more had his attitude towards the club. Hope he's doing well at Sevilla!

but by and large a crap football

your not wrong there he would of made a terrible football wrong shape too heavy too big the list goes on.
Im guessing you meant crap footballer though and in which case you are wrong again
Limited - yes
Crap - No, Your Crap did Zok on the other hand gets paid very well to do something he is pretty good at! alright he was no C.Ronaldo but neither is Wilson.
We upgraded, Did Zok wanted to move, its a shame he had to as alot of others have said he would of been an awesome squad player Make no mistake though he was never crap

Those saying Zokora was a bad footballer are mistaken.

He was definitely of a level good enough for Spurs. Zokora for me was an unbelievable professional. Very hard to find such footballers nowadays and it really came across that way. He just got on with it, played anywhere when needed for the team.

The formation always required him to do extra work.

no he wouldn't have

the guy was an absolute liability

his passing and positional sense were awful and he was one half of one of our crapiest midfield partnerships in recent times

sure he was proffesional and had a great attitude yadda yadda yadda but compared to the guy who took his place and the guy he was supposed to be replacing he was CRAP :hump:

yep and was mostly below par in all of them

I think alot of people are trying to big up Zok because he was a nice guy but at the end of the day he just wasn't good enough for us

mid-table player at best and although I wish him well at Sevilla I can't see him making the grade there either as la liga is more technical than the fast paced epl

guess what hombre? we have consistently been (except for 2 seasons) a mid table team.
Im not bigging him up because he is a 'nice guy' but because he was a capable international who consistently did ok for us - again he was no C.Ronaldo and yes Wilson is an upgrade.

I think you were probably one of those people who thought Carrick was rubbish

He never scored a goal for us in open play, but despite this he stood up to take a penalty against PSV. He couldn't have had the confidence of a goalscorer, but went for it anyway, and it was a bloody good penalty too.

I will always remember him with fondness. Just because he wasn't one of the most skillful players the club has had, shouldn't mean we can't love him anyway.

he was bought to replace Carrick but failed miserably and on top of that didn't have the positional sense or discipline to cover our defence effectively

I never said he was Ronaldo so that argument is laughable but compared to Carrick or Palacios he was crap and offered very little defensively or attacking. Complete headless chicken.

and your last little sentence is aload of unfounded bollox

Yeah seemed like a good bloke, enthusiastic, enjoyed playing, seemed to genuinely care about the club.

I think people can go overboard at times though...their are plenty of players with the same qualities as Didier but for some reason Zoko seems to get singled out for praise on this front more than others.

Perhaps it was his shortcomings as a player that mean people focus more on this aspect of his game.....like I said I do agree he had a good personality, Im just a bit sick of hearing about it at this stage...after all his job was a footballer not an entertainer.
