Tottenham and AC Milan are both on the trail of Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez.

talkSPORT told you on Wednesday that Milan want to find a replacement for current first-choice goalkeeper Christian Abbiati, who will turn 37 in July.

They're monitoring Levante's Keylor Navas - who has been followed by Everton and Liverpool - but the San Siro giants' number one target is Lopez, who has kept Iker Casillas out of Real Madrid's starting line-up since moving to the Bernabeu in January 2013.

Milan's interest in the 32-year-old is not new - they were keen on him during his five-year spell at former club Villarreal - but they could look to firm up their interest in the summer.

However, it is believed Milan will face competition from Spurs, whose technical director Franco Baldini is also keen on the Spaniard.

Hugo Lloris admitted in January that he will consider his future if Tim Sherwood's side fail to qualify for the Champions League, and Lopez could be viewed as a potential replacement for the Frenchman.

Yes! And he'll bring Bale and Modric with him too.
On another note, doubt Casillas will be happy spending yet anotherseason on the bench. Strangely, Casillas is numero uno for Espana while Diego Lopez isn't even in the squad (behind Reina, Victor Valdez and De Gea in the pecking order).
PS! I can really see PSG going after Lloris - particularly if he's having a good WC - as they will be looking for a new goalie (it's rumoured they're offering Euro 60m for Pogba). Barca also may put in a bid as they do have reservations about whether their apparent no.1 targer, ter Stegen, is read for life as Barca's numoro uno.

Apparently, he claims he wants to end his career there.

Yes, I read that one - when the Spanish press were ripe in speculations about him replacing out going Victor Valdez at Barca - but I doubt he'll like to spend the end of his career on the bench... even if it's Real Madrid's bench.

Bloody hell, I never knew that about the Spanish press. Surely that's an absolutely crazy story? Like you say, it's doubtful he'd like to spend the rest of his career on the bench, but if he does, what a waste of talent, and an even bigger lack of desire or ambition from the player himself.

Lack of ambition to do what? He's won everything already and is playing at the club he loves. The only really big challenge left is retaining the World Cup this summer (thus becoming the first European team to win one in South America).

Lack of ambition to actually continue to play, and prove that he's one of the best 'keepers out there. I guess I'm just old fashioned in that sense, and actually like it when a player would prefer to move, rather than just sit on his arse and collect his fat pay-cheque. It just seems such a waste of talent.

He really doesn't need to prove anything, anyone questioning his status would get a nonchalant finger pointed over to his medal cabinet.

Actually, he probably needs a room.

I feel you're misunderstanding me completely, Ribble? I'm not even close to detracting from what the guy has achieved, let alone suggesting he has something to prove, that would be plain ridiculous. I'm just saying that I, personally, think it's a waste of talent when a player, any player, prefers to sit and collect his massive wages, rather than attempt to move on and show the club that's sitting him on the bench, that they were stupid to do so.

I do see what you mean, but I think that if someone has accomplished so much in their career as Casillas has he's earned a bit of time to rest on his laurels and just be happy.

Also (whisper it!) he's hardly looked like a player at his full powers for a while, so it's probably better for him to step back a little.
