Doncaster team

It's early, we have West Ham coming up, but what team would you expect to see against Doncaster?

They're a half decent side and we don't want to take them for granted on their own patch.

That said, do we really want to risk any of our current CBs? do we want to risk Cudicini now that Gomes is out for a while?

I would have thought Sea Bass would continue at CB as he needs to just get games under his belt for us. Would be good to get Gio back involved. I would go with basically all the players that are likely to be on the bench against the Spammers with players like Bostock on the bench who can come on if we have a good lead.

Bostock and Parrett should come on as subs later.

I'd like to see Gio get a game, problem is both Pav and Crouch need games too, which shifts Gio out to LW then, perhaps cutting in to support the strikers. He could move to striker if one of Pav/Crouch get subbed, maybe Rose on. No need to risk any majorly important players, there's enough quality there to beat Doncaster (I hope Eek).

I think this is the second most important competition for us. It is our best chance of getting European football, which we will need next year to make the next step up.

I agree with your thoughts on the team, it's a game I'd want us to use our second line up. I'd make some changes though.
I'd have Naughton on the left where he's done okey at Sheffield United before, and let Hutton get another game on the right.
And in stead of Bostock I'd use O'Hara in the middle together with Boateng.
Rose should play a part, as should Bostock if fit again after his injury from the Otten Cup.

O'Hara to captain the side.
And a VERY strong bench.

I think we have a much better chance of finishing top 7 than winning the CC.

That said, this little part of me is saying fook the Europa - we can finish top 4 and get CL
