Dont' you just love the press. From the Daily Express.

Tottenham could allow Paul Robinson, Aaron Lennon, Jermaine Jenas, Tom Huddlestone and Darren Bent to leave as boss Juande Ramos looks to whittle down his English contingent.

Tottenham defender Michael Dawson could be a target of Newcastle, after Kevin Keegan lost out to Spurs for Jonathan Woodgate.

Spurs coach Juande Ramos is considering bids for Valencia's David Villa, Real Zaragoza's Diego Milito, Toulouse striker Johan Elmander and even Barcelona's Ronaldinho to fill the void left by the departing players.

You forgot this bit:

Tottenham caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to the Carling Cup at a post-final party, with the base broken when it was dropped while photographs were being taken. The cup is now at the Football League's jewellers being repaired. (Daily Express)

What a bunch of hoolies.

No real surprises, there........

Although I like the idea of David Villa, a lot of who comes in will be determined by players that stay - eg. Berbatov!

No point in bringing in players just for the sake of it, we want/need players that will improve the team, as a whole.

Interesting times...............

I don't believe those highlighted would go.

Tottenham defender Michael Dawson could be a target of Newcastle, after Kevin Keegan lost out to Spurs for Jonathan Woodgate. He can go tomorrow for all I care.

That's 3 strikers and 1 AMF ad no replacement in CM. Mmm... bobo

But you see, if they talk about us buying a bunch of strikers it allows them to justify more 'Berbatov's off' stories...

Have the Express managed to work a reference to Princess Di into the Spurs stories yet? Only they could give such a story the 'he is anti-english' slant. Well, the Daily Mail also I suppose.

The Press have been taking pot shots at spurs ever since they were called to arms over the banning of the Evening Standard form The Lane a couple of years ago.

Since then, I have no time for the crap they post unless it is a direct quote, in inverted commas.

Scoring matchwinning goals like this one from the midweek international Villa will have a lot of suitors, and would certainly be difficult to lure to the lane - even for Ramos.

Would have to agree. There is no chance of us getting Villa. I would love to be proved wrong but he is one of the best strikers in the world and alot of champions league teams will be wanting him. If we do I would imagine there will be some release clause in any contract he signed

why do you love the press? these rumours that Ramos hardly rates any of our players has been going round for ages. he has said that he will look at bids for all the squad except for about 6 0r 7 players. as Mabbutt has said, theres a lot of dead wood to get rid of. it's gonna be a very exciting summer of transfers. our starting team on the first day will look dramatically different to the one that will play tomorrow. i rekon only keane, woodgate, hutton, bale will be left in the starting line up

king will still be at Spurs playing once a month. by then we will have pocketed £25m for Berbatov, and at least £10m for Bent, £5m for Kaboul, £5m for Chimbonda, £2m for Lee, £8m for Lennon, £3m for Robbo etc etc....we're gonna have a tonne of cash to spend!!!!

I don't think that Bent, Berbatov, Kaboul and Lennon will be sold. Hopefully, Keegan will give us £10million for Dawson and Chimbonda. Lee is worth more than £2million (more like £3million). We would be lucky to get £3million for Robinson.

a slightly younger player of Lee's ability (mid-late 20s) would fetch around £3m, but he'll be 31, I think £2m is about the max we'd get for him.

I never reaised he was that old; although he is player who could a good 4-5 season more. Does anyone know how much Roma offered us for Lee last season?
