This is the most likely scenario if Juventus can find the money. They are crying out for a striker or anyone to score goals.

If they had the money wouldn't they be securing Dybala rather than letting him go for free in the Summer? Also aren't they currently under investigation still regarding their financial dealings over the past decade?

Agree. It makes so much sense. He gets to go to one of the biggest clubs in world football as their number one striker and doesn't even need to move country.

Problem is Juve finding the money, and Fiorentina actually selling to them (although tbf Italian teams don't seem to care about selling to rivals like we do in the prem)

That’s why I said “if Juventus can find the money”. They had €300m put into the club in 2020 according to Swiss Ramble. Whilst they have huge losses over recent years, they still expect to do better this season and clubs like them always find the money. They’ll trade, it just depends where. Vlahovic is a solid long term investment for them as he’s performed very well in Italy for two years.

Yeah unfortunately if it is between us and them, as much as a pull we and the PL is, they are still Juventus. Our hope has to be that he fancies the PL. I reckon from his point of view us getting in the CL has to be a big reason for coming.

Different styles of course, but Baggio made that move and is a legend
How is Baggio seen by his former club? I know the match is seen as a derby match now, is that only a recent thing?

He got death threats when he left, and the juve fans weren't happy to get him either. But he won back the fiorentina fans when he returned to play them. He refused to take a penalty, and then when subbed and was being pelted with things picked up a fiorentina scarf and put it on.

I think if us or Arsenal get CL he’ll go to one of us but we have other priorities in our squad so even if he wanted to come I can’t see us putting 70mil of our budget on him even though it would be great if we did as he looks like an incredible talent who’d set us up for years up front.

Nothing we don’t know already. Arsenal pushing now but he isn’t convinced by them or moving in January generally. Suggests they are still working on convincing/throwing money at him still.

Sounds like we are interested still but won’t make a move in January - no information as to why.

Well there's an interesting bit in there we didn't know before in which he said the player was unconvinced by the proposal from Athletico Madrid, that's new information right? Honestly everytime Romano talks about it, it sounds like genuinely we're in the driving seat but we need to be wary of big teams but we seem in a fantastic position.

He's said that in the past, just never tweeted it.

Only wants to go to Juve ?....

I find that incredibly hard to believe unless he's just been stringing us along the whole time. Which I highly doubt considering how much respect he has for Conte.

I still feel we will get him at some point over the next two windows. The noises were strong for him wanting to join us and the money is there if the player also decides he wants to leave in Jan.

I'm just not sure he does that unless they threaten to bench him for 6 months which they clearly aren't going to do.

Wouldn’t put it past us given our previous record. If he’s not willing to move in Jan, he’s clearly holding out for better offers in the summer.

Sure, he might have all the respect in the world for Conte, but that’s meaningless if we aren’t willing to strengthen our whole squad. We sold Conte a package and likely promised to add to the squad. So far we are yet to show any backing in terms of both incomings and outgoings.

Does Vlahovic expect to get the same amount of goals with PEH and Winks threading balls through to him? I doubt it. Clearly money isn’t his main goal if Arsenal are throwing loads at him. We need a more attractive and competitive squad to have any chance of securing Vlahovic.

His agents and the player get a better deal in the summer, something Spurs might be aware of if Paratici does infact have a close relationship with the agents, he also might want to end the season strong with Fiorentina to leave them with a good farewell if he gets them into Europe. I don't think it's "Clearly holding out for better offers"

If it’s not holding out for better offers, then why would they be interested in making more money in the summer?

Sure, getting Fiorentina into Europe would be great but if he really wanted to come play under Conte and help us push for Europe, he’d be coming now.

The financial landscape of football in Europe is most likely going to improve with COVID easing up slightly and stadium revenues being maintained. There will be bigger clubs in for him come then and will be able to blow us out of the water.

I mean I assume you're inferring better offers to mean, from bigger clubs right? Because what I'm saying is the amount his agents can get and the weekly wage he can get from Spurs in the summer compared to January will be significant because the amount he will cost in January will be quite a bit higher than in the summer because Fiorentina will have little choice but to sell because he'll have 12 months left and if they don't then 6 months after that he can talk to any club he wants outside of Italy and sign a pre-agreement, this is why Fiorentina had been keen to offload him in January to maximize profits and why his agents have been more than happy for him to sit tight. I mean the reporting has been clear that he wanted to finish the season with Fiorentina since the start of the window, Just because clubs can offer high salaries to ours doesn't mean he necessary thinks it's the right step for his career either but we may just might be with a world class manager and a world class striker to learn from.

I mean I don't know why I'm explaining to you, seems like you've already decided he's out of our reach which begs the question why bother coming into the thread quite frankly.

Problem with these elite clubs is they just don't know when to quit. Just look at Barcelona. Signing players they are struggling to even register!
