Tottenham Hotspur have entered the mix to sign Álvaro Morata, as per reports coming out of Spain. The striker is on loan at Juventus from Atlético Madrid and the Serie A side have an option to buy him after this season. Massimiliano Allegri’s side are close to completing a deal for Fiorentina’s Dušan Vlahović and his impending arrival opens the door for the Spain international to leave the Old Lady.

Ugh, I suspected this might happen. Can't stand Morata personally, the absolute wet lettuce of a player. I guess Conte would know him well but he's completely unsuited to English football.

Would make an okay back up to Kane IMO... and if Conte wants him. Fine.... hey, it's a striker ??? but is it realistic ???

The last time we were in advanced negotiations with this exact player he expressed his concerns over having to play backup to Harry Kane. This then led to the narrative of "we can't sign a striker because no one wants to play second fiddle to Kane".

So what changed ?

Conte might be willing to play 2 up top whereas poch maybe wasn’t ?‍♂️

If the price is reasonable and he wants to join I’d be fine with this, perfectly reasonable back-up to Kane who could also play alongside Kane, knows the league etc.

Issue would still be wing backs and CM’s and lack of quality creative goalscoring attacking creative players which Diaz and Traore would’ve solved.

Morata would be a small piece of the jigsaw

6 years ago i would have welcomed this but Morata is (ironically) shot in front of goal.
Snatches at everything.

He's not ideal, but he does have decent facets, which If harnessed correctly could be decent. He just needs to toughen up mentally. I wouldn't mind this signing because as Conte showed with Lukaku, he's good at instilling confidence into a player.
The one major caveat is of course his time under Conte at Chelsea, but hopefully they've both matured and this can be more fruitful.

Just setting up more chance for another ex chelscum to reject and laugh at us. And he's not even good either. No please.

Yep. Check out Buffon’s comments about him a few years ago to see how mentally weak he is. As a back up to Kane though he’s not the worst.

We could do a lot worse as a backup/rotation option on loan.

But if we're looking at him as a long term replacement for Kane, we're fucked.
