Early signings is to convince...

Here are my thoughts that are seconded by someone at the club. I'm not allowed to tell you who! We spoke and he told me about Modric but i didn't believe him! So...

I live in Mauritius, but have families and friends in Edmonton and Tottenham and other part of London.
However, this friend (SPURS FANS and know someone high in Spurs FC) have confirmed that we want to sign players such as Modric for the following reasons:

• Ramos want them to gel quickly through pre season.
• To convince Berba to give Ramos a proper opportunity, thus the reasons both Keane and Woodgate has come out and said that they rate the club as Champions league challenge next season. Berba is highly rated by Ramos and co and they really want him to stay although this looks unlikely.
• To attract other potential stars.Two name were mentioned: Capel and Diego nothing about Ronaldinho. There are more probability in getting Etoo than Ronaldinho according to him.

Other news other than Spurs, it looks like Alves is being chased by Man UTD but nothing said about Berba.

Lennon could be going too - don't know where. ( I would rather he stays)
The next signing could probably be the keeper.

People will call me a complete mentalist (which is fine really) but I'd prefer we got Capel to Ronaldhinho especially now we've got Modric.

All we need then is Ben Haim, Diarra, Gomes / Kameni and possible a new centre forward if Berbs still wants to go and we'll be set! :up:

Certainly makes sense to get people in as early as possible. We need a good pre-season so that the team is ready for the off straight away this time (after two punchdrunk starts to the season in a row).

I reckon the number one reason for the early signing is that Ramos needs to get the fitness levels of the squad up over the summer (and of course to gel). I just searched Modric on Google News, you would have thought that Newcastle had already signed him!


Alves to Man Utd makes A LOT of sense. They're crying out for a decent right back. Evra and Alves would be a pant-wettingly good combination.

The genius of this signing is also the fact that Modric will be playing in Euro 2008. A great tournament there and there would have been a serious bidding war going on. Earlier these signings are made the better, least this will give a buzz round WHL this afternoon, COYS!

Nothing wrong with that; Spurs is a business afterall, and I'd prefer to see that business run well.

I also think, like quite a few have mentioned on this site, that once Euro 2008 has finished, the value of those players who have had a good tournement will be sky high.

Let's get our signings done before June 7th!

I was convinced when I saw him making Gerrard, Lampard and co look like absolute chumps in our games against you! In fact, I thought to myself right that day "God I hope he signs for us".
