From this article: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...oach-Empoli-goalkeeper-Guglielmo-Vicario.html

Burkina Faso international Tapsoba is a player that Tottenham have admired for some time.

The 24-year-old is eager to join Tottenham and it seems likely that a deal will happen once an official approach is made.
Him and Tosin Adarabioyo for me would be two shrewd signings to freshen up the defense and fits into our budget.

Obviously really like Guehi as well, just seems it would take an outrageous bid

Them 2 replacing Sanchez & Lenglet would be a mindfuckingly large upgrade

Agreed and if you have those two plus a healthy Romero you have three quality options battling for two spots. Keep one more around for depth and possibly a kid and you're set for this season 🤞

Blooming good signing, seem to remember him being linked to Arse, chels and the other big boys so impressive work if we pull it off.

Might be an opportunity to get Dorrington involved a bit more

He was sensational in his first 6 months at Bayer, I thought they would double what they paid for him if they wanted to sell that summer. After that I saw very few of his games, only 2 this year. But I think he is a quality player, and of the names I am familiar with would be one of my first choices if the price is reasonable.

Agree bud, add Japanese LCB Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart, to Tapsoba and Tosin and Centre back spots would be refreshed

I was excited at the prospect of Laporte but thinking about it this might be the better way to go.

Laporte has big question marks over his injury record and is getting older, and would see it as a step down.

Tapsoba is younger and would be seeing the move as a step up. Seems like a good one vs one CB that seems ideal for Ange's style.

I wonder if Ange is actually behind these shifts this week, first Vicario and hopefully real legs with this one too.

Unlike his recent predecessors I can imagine Ange will care more for a players attributes and fit for his style than their experience and name-power.

Yeah I think we lost the moment to sign a player like Laporte.

That should have been done when Toby and Jan were going or even last summer with Conte in control.

Squad is now needing a new core and its hard to do that on a limited budget when you are spending big wages/fee on older players.

You do that when you are close to your objectives like we were in 2017-19.

We should be finding players to fill the new core of the team, identifying next generation types.

Players who have something to prove.

Id be okay with Laporte if we could still obtain our options but a younger CB with high potential isnt gonna join us when he sees his pathway blocked as he wont get last Laporte and Romano.

I think Munn has picked this up from the way the City group operate.

City dont really sign 28+ year olds who are already well established.

They sign players on the brink or young talents who are already producing.

This allowed them to mould them into their team and Peps way of playing.

I think Munn and Postecoglou will do exactly the same

This would be a fantastic signing. Alongside Romero, they would massively compliment each other! I'm glad we finally seem to be identifying the right kind of players based on the style of football we want to play which is also right for the current manager. If we can get Tapsoba, Vicario and Maddison done early on, that would be a brilliant start to the window. Let's hope we can get these over the line ASAP!

Leverkusen are looking for a new CB... looking at Robin Koch right now. From Kicker yesterday:

Let's hope it's because Tapsoba is on his way out of the club :)

Leverkusen is courting Koch !

Bayer 04 Leverkusen are looking for a new central defender. The eight-time German national player Robin Koch has been targeted by the Rhinelanders. The ex-Freiburger could leave Leeds United free of charge until 2024 despite his contract because his team was relegated from the Premier League. However, Leverkusen is not alone: Eintracht Frankfurt and Manchester United, among others, are dealing with the defensive player.
