Is it just me that suspects Adabadhairday, on loan, could end up creating havok for us?

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see him at Spurs, but what if he has a blinder for the season and helps to put us up there in contention with Citeh. Would they not then make him return, flat refuse to loan or sell him to us, then leave us as we are now, looking for a top flight striker once more?

Maybe it's just my suspicious nature but i can't help but feel this may be a headache for us down the road.

We can worry about that once we finish 4th - if we managed to finish 4th then surely we can attract someone better...

I thought Adebayor was Blue and Yellow due to the kit colours of Togo. Obviously I was incorrect in thinking this if he is being referred to as the Blue half?

Im trying to think of who is yellow in Real Madrid. Blue could be Benzema (les bleus). It is realistic to get him on loan.

Edit- Same link could be applied to Diarra in which case it would be him...

No it is not. Apparently Mourinho and Benzema have been publicly flirting all window Eek

Based on the recent talk i would imagine POTL is refering to Adebayor as the blue - the only other striker people have been getting excited about loaning is Benzema (who wears blue for his national team) so it is either club or country colours. I think Ady is the one we really want and i'm sure he will want to come, and i think city want rid too given they have 42 strikers on their books. Problem is always going to be his wages. If city pay half for the next 9 months that would be great. If Ady then feels like Spurs is where he wants to be we can then try and convince him to drop his demands. We may also be looking at the new stadium plans in action and hopefully CL revenue (which i think is realistic with him up top).

Kaka

It would make sense, those two would convince Modric to stay.... Unrealistic though, blue might be Benzema

Is he the Blue POTL is referring to? Or have I lost the PLOT?

Enough with the puns, already:grin:

Or is it a cryptic:shifty:

The only issue I have with this is, when he first posted this he said when blue and yellow come to fruition it will make modric want to stay, is Adebayor that?

Great signing if true

We have to impress him.

But I've always been of the opinion that what we need is not a big money signing but one who will function well within the team. What would impress Modric more, buying a big name striker who scores 10 goals next season, or signing one he has never heard of who scores 25 and helps us to 3rd and some trophies (or whatever)

blue could refer to so many players, as could yellow.

the clue might has well have been homo sapien, one with black hair, one with yellow

Time is not on our side to impress Modric. We have to show intent NOW buy signing big name players rather than an unknown who might or might not be good, Modric wont hang around to find out!

viper adebayor if we do end up signing him is not an unknown mate, the fella has played in the champions league for some big clubs and is a very very good player on his day.

like startingprice says we dont need to shell out huge dough on big marquee signings what's needed is a couple of forwards that would compliment the way we play first and foremost and adebayor be it on loan or for £10m would definately fill one of the places. we have been down that marquee road before shelling out a vast sum with bentley who didn't fit our style and was in the spotlight at the time.

You miss my point.
When it all first broke I was like most folk - buy now, buy big, to impress him you understand.
He is on a five year contract.
Basically, the stance Levy has taken is that he isstaying this year.
In which case, I don't really care how big the name is, just how effective the player is...and I am pretty certian that, come next Summer if we finished one point off the EPL title because we brought a shit hot unknown who scored 40 goals Modric would feel the same.

I am not saying I have anything against big signings, just that signing a big name isn't the be all and end all of it, for me. I would much rather Levy/Redknapp took their time over getting the right player than rushing out and spending a fortune on the most expensive player, or the most well-known.

cristiano ronaldo does not believe real madrid need to sign another centre-forward amid continuing speculation that manchester city striker emmanuel adebayor could return to the santiago bernabeu following last season's loan spell.
