Adebayor asks Spurs to move to the midlands
21-07-11
HARRY Redknapp is reconsidering a loan move for Emmanuel Adebayor after the Man City striker said moving to London seemed like a faff.

'Does anyone know what this is?'
As well as requesting that the north London club relocate a lot closer to Manchester so he didn't have to move house, the sub-sedentary striker also asked whether the pitch could be shortened to decrease the amount of running about and advised that he was going to be busy most Saturdays.

Redknapp said: "Our current target men are a philandering bucktoothed lamppost and a lad with the pace and turning circle of St Paul's cathedral, so we’re not saying a definite no just yet.

"My biggest worry about such a move would be Van der Vart falling to bits while being transported, but I suppose I could sit him on my lap in the front of the Transit."

Adebayor has steadily fallen out of favour at City from first choice striker to regular substitute to being loaned to Real Madrid to his current status of having a restraining order banning him from being within 200 yards of the Etihad stadium.

Several clubs have expressed an interest in the player but the deals have fallen through after he failed to complete any of the medicals, citing his inability to be arsed pulling up his shirt so the doctor could listen to his chest.

Spurs hope that signing Adebayor will stem the tide of players looking to leave the club after it became clear that playing for Redknapp did not guarantee an introduction to his saucy daughter-in-law.

Redknapp said: "I'm sure the fans will realise the sacrifices we have to make to sign top quality players and will relish the chance of driving up the M6 every other weekend to watch Ade stroll about for a bit."

A girl I know posted a photo of herself with Adebayor on her facebook today, seems he was in London.

Naturally I asked her what she found out about why he was in London and if he was signing for SPurs.........

but of course she herself had asked him none of these questions rending this little piece of "ITK" about as useful as the whole "we have signed Lukaku on a pre contract" event.

It does appear he was/is in London, although having lived and worked here and probably still owning property here we probably can't actually read anything into this (although perhaps it can strengthen, even if only by half a %, what other ITK's have already confirmed in regards to us having discussions with him)

Ade looks like Stringer Bell from The Wire on that pic! And yes, your mate is really pretty.

From the BBC Gossip page this morning:

Tottenham will make one last attempt to sign Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor, with boss Harry Redknapp desperate to sign the former Arsenal striker.

The source is this lot: http://www.footie-online.co.uk/2011/08/tottenham-to-rival-madrid-for-adebayor/4163/ So probably nothing in it.

I still can't believe we are even bothering with the pursuit of a player that makes Gallas look like Hoddle in Spurs fans' loveability terms. And also plays for a CL-rival club and earns £170k a week.

This better be a smokescreen for someone else :bang:

Emmanuel Adebayor, the Manchester City striker, is close to a loan move to Tottenham Hotspur, who offered to pay £75,000 of his £175,000-a-week wages last month.

ITK has gone very quiet on this. He's either not reduced his demands or is still waiting for Madrid (anyone know if they've have any other strikers lined up yet?) to come in. Looks like it's going to be a last minute job if we're to get him.

Interesting but I can't see it. As DP said Madrid are still in for a striker at the moment and that holds up what we are doing. But nearly all of the big clubs are sorted now and so hopefully we can do something soon.

Still would be my preferred option. Assuming we would have to pay a massive loan fee to cover his wages. No way city will pay out 5 million in wages with us just paying like 3.5

The Times are running the story that we have agreed a loan deal for Adebayor. We are supposedly meeting upto £ 75K of his wages, City to pay rest.

Would be nice....................

If Adebayor's coming on loan, I hope its with an option to buy at the end of it.
