I think if we were signing him he would of course reduce his wages, but if we are getting him on loan then he would still be on the wage he is on at city. He isn't demanding anything in that case, it is just a case of us and City negotiating who is covering his existing wages.
I may be wrong, but this how I see it happening,we will probably pay a £5m fee for the loan, and agree to pay him £75k a week, the £5m fee from Spurs will cover the other £100k per week that City will have to pay him. City get him off their books for a year and we get a top class striker without breaking our wage structure.

This would only be acceptable if the 5m is deductible from an agreed fee for him should we want him after the year loan.
think potl said it was closeSo how's this looking? Dead in the water or still a possibility?
This paragraph is shockingly poor
Most importantly perhaps is the aura of Arsenal that Adebayor still carries. Whilst Gallas may have been there a season longer, the fact that he went there from Chelsea and then onto Spurs seems to soften the blow. He’s just working his way around the London clubs with no particular allegiance. Adebayor may have gained some kudos by running the entire length of the field to antagonise the Arsenal faithful but he still smells of the new Emirates leather. He still represents that club more than Manchester City or Real Madrid.
I think it's pretty true though - and it fits into the other bit about their mentalities.
Gallas was a top player elsewhere and rather successful - whilst he seemed to fit into arsenal's realm jerkdom, in retrospect his crazy behavior can be explained because he despised his team-mates and the club's standing.
Adebayor in contrast was very much a wenger creation. He made his name at Arsenal and seemed to embody everything that was wrong with them. Dancing at innapropriate moments, inflated sense of self worth, farcical self-confidence without the achievements to back it up, copious reserves of self-pity, cod-moralising whilst behaving atrociously etc. etc.
Obviously he could have been misunderstood as well, but you have to admit it seems a lot less likely.
just got to get johnson from city. .think hes the best english winger!! bale and johnson on each side i dont care who we have up top!
Just now a City mate in work told me that City are trying to engineer a swap deal involving Adebayor and Gago.
We're goign to get screwed over on this arent we?
To be perfectly honest, most strikers need to be a bit cocky and over-confident. It is something our strikers probably lack and as soon as they hit a slightly bad patch they just seem demoralised and completely toothless. I'd take a less talented but very self-confident striker any day.
