To be perfectly honest, most strikers need to be a bit cocky and over-confident. It is something our strikers probably lack and as soon as they hit a slightly bad patch they just seem demoralised and completely toothless. I'd take a less talented but very self-confident striker any day.

Bendtner?

I know it's only Goal.com but hopefully it is true.

He is a man with a lot to prove which hopefully he will do for us.

Even better won't the Scum fans be pissed. We think we've had a bad week Eek

Please please let this be true....

I can't see us getting a better option than this. If he's handled well and feels wanted he could be brilliant for us.

Sorry to put a dampner on it. However the leading newspaper in Spain were reporting yesterday that Real Mardid want him back due to the fact Neymar is staying in Brazil for the time being.

If we do manage to get Adebayor will he actually be fit for the United game? He presumably hasn't played any pre-season games of note so I'd have thought it's take a while to get his fitness up.

Slightly cart before the horse here but sod it...I'm quite excited.

A very valid point, that seemed to escape my thinking.

Sorry to disturb the dribbling, but can someone explain how we're planning to reconcile Adebayor's massive wages and our wage cap in 12 months time if we do indeed make the move permanent? "Ade, you've been wonderful for us this season, helping us win the league and all that, but we're buying you now, so we're gonna have to half your wages."

Is old Sheikhy gonna cough up the difference for ever? Good lad.

You would imagine that we would have already negotiated a wage we were both happy with prior to signing him on loan in case we do want to take up the option

Those idiots who sing the racist elephant song will now look bloody stupid. I imagine Asenal Fans will be pretty upset with this one., Gallas and Adebayor at spurs. 3 Years ago unheard of but now the very cream of Arsenal coming over to the lane, shows the balance is moving in our direction..next year will be Fabregas, Van Perve, wallnuts?

You would have to assume so. It really would be quite a fantastic oversight if they ignored that problem now

If they haven't already, City are going to have to become very comfortable with the idea of subsidising ex-players' wages. Paying big money might help you sign the players you want, but it makes them a nightmare to shift if you suddenly don't want them anymore (as we, to a lesser degree, are also finding out to our cost)

This deal would be good for everybody, both Clubs and Player - splitting the wages. Levy trying to secure the option to buy at a knock down price is fantastic and if we make it back into the CL we'll be able to offer him a bit more wages wise...with a smaller squad to maintain financially as well.

Can I just point out that if we sign Adebayor, I doubt we will automatically see Crouch heading out the exit door, as Adebayor cannot play against City who we have to play very soon.

As long as we have him before Fifa 12 I don't mind.

I too want a big target man for Fifa 12 (and a RW who can cut inside) :hump::hump:

On topic, Greg Stobart is the one with the Spurs connections right?

I also noticed they mentioned Marseille, which BEN mentioned yesterday.
