What about Modric?
Malbranque will def be in the squad (if not the team) and so will zokora as he has proved very adaptable.

The only player who has excited me this season (other than our new signings) is Huddlestone. He hasn't been consistent but has shown signs of brilliance for such a young lad.

Nah I've already dismissed Modric as far too hairy for our team.

Steed and Zokora have done well this season and I do think they'll be here next season, but they could both be replaced quite easily I think.

As for Hudd I simply don't think he'll ever shape up to be a top player. He's too slow and positionally inept.

Not the cup final mate?
Mine has to be without a doubt smashing Arsenal 5-1 and i'll remember that night for the rest of my life, never have i seen an atmosphere like it

Certainly not. That's the best victory I've ever been able to celebrate, but nowhere near the best game I've seen or been to.

I meant the 6-4 in terms of the actual game, and how it all panned out. Other games like the cup final and cup semi-final were obviously much better to win, but that was the most enthralling game for me. The fact that we kept going behind, and I thought there was no way we'd win it, let alone end up scoring 2 more than them and winning 6-4.

Yup very true. I think the biggest disappointment is that at the moment for me there's only four players who I'm certain will be in the squad next season and they are Hutton, Woodgate, Bale and Keane (and King if he's fit).

That's a very sad state of affairs.

I think Jenas and Zokora are definately going to be in the squad next season. Jenas was at the kit unveiling and Ramos likes Zokora

IMO who i'm certain will be in the squad next season- Woodgate, King, Hutton, Gilberto, Bale, Jenas, Zokora, Modric, Keane.

Players probably be in the squad - Lennon, Steed, Bent, O'Hara, Dawson, Taarabt, Huddlestone.

Players who might be in the squad next season - Robbo, Berba, Tainio, Boateng, Assou Ekotto

Players more of less certain of leave - Cerny, Kaboul, Gardner, Rocha, Lee, Chimbonda

Another of my biggest lows is that certain players have utterly regressed.
Lennon;
Robbo;
Dawson.

These were three of our very best players a couple of seasons ago.
Now we're talking about replacing them.
Goes to show you can't take anything for granted in the topsy turvy world of football.

Only absolutely mentally retarded fucking idiots are talking about replacing Lennon.

If getting Bentley meant losing Lennon, then I wouldn't want Bentley.

So you'd rather have a player who can run fast but can't cross than a player who can actually deliver decent balls into the box and score goals?

Don't get me wrong Lennon is far from our biggest problem and I hope he stays and develops. But at the moment he's also a long way from the finished article and could be replaced without it being a massive problem.

I agree that he's got a lot to improve, but he's exactly the kind of player I love to watch and I'd be absolutely gutted if we let him go. I'd love to get Bentley in to compete with Lennon (or possibly play in the same team with him), as it may well improve Lennon as a player, but if it's a choice between a right winger and a right midfielder, I'd choose a right winger every time.

Yes but not long ago even absolutely metally retarded f**king idiots would never have considered selling him. In fact our biggest concern was keeping him out of Chelsea's prying hands.

I still think there's an important place for him at the club, but there's no denying he has failed to live up to potential, at least so far.

Um,I'd sum this season up in one word.Tottenham Hotspur.

LOws,followed by HIGhs........but winning silverware is what its all about.Sure we'd all love to see us having a go in the CL,but honestly,i dont know if it will happen. The top 4 seem too far ahead for me.But as long as Spurs keep playing entertaining football, and can win trophys with a bit more regularity, ill be happy.

It's the 11th that bugs me. If it had been 10th I could have found the whole season alot easier to cope with, but 11th is bottom of the table and just seems a big step backwards from what we achieved the past couple of seasons.

The cup is brilliant, it's Wembley, it's silverware, excitement etc, but the league is still the better watermark for judging a team and in that respect we were not upto scratch this season. To many sloppy goals, let in late on when concerntration had gone. Since February it's been even worse imo. I understand we had nothing more to play for, but still, it just sits badly for me. We still invest our time/money etc, the least the players could do is look bothered, which at times they certainly haven't these past few weeks.

Some of the performances have been encouraging, home to Utd, away to Arse, the Semi's and Final of the CC. There are things to take us forward, but we need more to be brought in if we are to get back to 5/6th and trying to break top four.

Transfers this summer are going to be enormous. Modric is a good start. A defensive central midfield is paramount for next year, as is Ledders fitness. If, and it's a huge if, he can get back to playing regularly, thats a 15m signing for me that will have such an important impact on us going forward. I still think we are a Carrick away from challenging for 4th. Hutton and Woodie are upgrades, as is Bale. The missing factor is Davids. If we can get a replacement for Carrick, someone who can genuinely dictate the pace of a game and some experience (Gattuso?) to help out, I'll still be hopefully for next year. Still not sold on Robbo. I dont think he'll be 1st chice next year. I'd back him to get back to form, but I dont believe we have the time to be waiting on him and a new 1st choice brought in.

If Ramos likes Zokora, I'll kill them both! Zoks is by far the worst player at Spurs....He just doesn't fit in. A player I like (other than Robbie) is Steeeedddddd, I was a bit apprehensive about us getting him for a start but I love him, I also used to like him at Foolham as well!

Get rid of Zoks, he's a disaster waiting to happen

It should be crashingly obvious that Ramos does like Zokora, because he's been a nailed-on starter ahead of Tainio since the ACN.

He played a dam sight better than JJ today! Am never usually a Zokora fan but he has tried hard.

Anyway, what I wanted to say was that this season has been really frustrating but I think the future looks good. Even though Ramos pulled it out to drive them to win the CC, since then we've been shite.....but there could be a reason. Bear with me.......

After the game we were driving home and listening to the radio and a caller said a great point which suddenly made sense. "Ramos will be great for the future of Spurs. Since his arrival he has let some players dig their own graves, and he clearly knows now who is, and more importantly, isn't worth a place in his squad!"

I see big changes ahead with players arriving who want to achieve and have the right positive attitude!!!

Ramos is great, but I still think last summer set the tone for this campaign and the subsequent departure of jol. In order to break the top 4, which seemed a realistic aim after consecutive 5th place finishes, we needed to sign very different players to those we atually ended up with. This year, Ramos (and I don't doubt for a second he will) has to ensure that each missing piece of the puzzle is filled, and the dead wood is cleared out, without interference from the board.

I agree with lot of comments on here, taking the carling cup win out of it this season has mainly been a massive let down! Im personally am glad its over with now and hope and pray we dont have another league campain like this one for along long time!

To be honest i lost interest pretty much when Chopra beat us on the first day, that was gutting, then we lost we Everton, that was bad, then levy went to Spain.....that wa awful ad after that it was only really the CC to get excited about (twas f*cking amazing tho) and have been looking forward to summer ever since, can't help but think both te players and Ramos to an extent gave up on the season! Sad really.......

I AM looking forward to next season tho, can't wait to see wat Juande does with a full pre-season!

I can't be arsed to stick a new thread up, but did anyone see an interview with Hughes who was slabbering at the thought of being quite possibly the only team outside the top four to achieve Europe via the league for the third year in succession? Then lose to Birmingham 4-1 and fuck it up?

That was a high for me - sorry rez to highjack your thread and apply an extremely poor link to it!!
