since the cup win we have played ok to good in the first half of games but ok to a total load of shit in the second half this worries me as the top managers are good first half and better second half what do you lot think

I want us to be a force in this league, not a team that wins a cup every now and again. This season has been a blotch on our progression as a top side.

Sounds about right.

I can just about look on the positive side and think with a pre-season and a few more players Ramos could do something.

I think everyone loved the cup win, but the end to the season really has drained the optimism out of most. I think a few big signings will turn things around and we'll soon be dreaming of champions league

I was lucky enough to be there at Wembley for that fantastic moment when we lifted the cup and it was just brilliant. You are indeed right when you say that this end, particularly today has drained our hope. We played some great stuff against Reading but apparently we were dominated by Liverpool. Gutted. We need to win ten more games to get to the top 4! TEN!

Glad the season has finished, we were crap. I frankly ask Levy if this was in his plan, I am sick of us doing well then it all going wrong. Why Levy? the buck ultimetly stops at you! you decided to get Ramos in, what was planned for us? 11th mid table mediocrity again?

If this is what happens to us after Ramos took us over, no wonder BMJ was a bit annoyed, I preferred footy with BMJ to be honest!

Come on Spurs PLAY and not be a bunch of pussies!
And When Jol left we were way further down the table,
Yes people can say he was underminded but would the team have won that cup or even got us to the giddy heights of 11th if he'd stayed? or languished in the bottom five and possibly be playing for our survival against liverpool today?
I know where i'd rather be.

Yes i also know this season was a washout but lets give Ramos a full season before we linch the guy ffs :bang: .

Let's just hope next season won't be that hectic! i hated it..from the beginning to the departure of Jol, to the arriving of Ramos, to the draws, to our great players getting long term injuries .We had some good games tough and i'm happy about the cup..but what else? i think we were treated too fine in the last seasons so this one feels a bit bitter. Especially the end...

Amazing season. Finishing 11th in the league is crap, but it doesn't even begin to tell the whole story. We won the Carling Cup for a start, but regardless, we've been in involved in many amazing games this season. The 6-4 win against Reading is probably the best game I've ever been to.

Ultimately it's been a poor season and in the last couple of months we've been frankly woeful.

But there are bright points...

To start with we've appointed one of the most sought after managers in Europe. I think we'll really see how good he is next season.

Secondly we've won a cup and got into Europe despite being largely useless this season which gives us something to build on next season.

It's sad that we're going to have to start again this summer with a huge overhaul of our squad, but hopefully we have the man in charge now to make that overhaul a success.

In relation to what we thought we would do in August:

League 1 out of 10
Carling Cup 10 out of 10
FA Cup 6 out of 10-unlucky to get Man U away
UEFA Cup 6 out of 10-deep down, we all know that we should have beaten them comfortably.

Overall, id give the season a 5 out of 10 considering the league is the bread and butter of the season-cups are great, but getting it right in the league is the main priority in order to progress.

this season has probably been the most emotional in my lifetime, it will live long in the memory for lots of things and that glorious day at wembley. a very special day.

im actually optimistic about next season, ramos will have had a full summer to prepare, and i duno, i just have a feeling inside me.

thank you martin jol, you will be missed. and well, will it be another goodbye with berba? we'll have to see. what was he like at the game today?

one of the biggest lows is the fact this season we have lost 33 points from winning situations drawing 9 and losing 5

compare that with just 8 points gained from losing situations

shocking stuff

Jol lost the players. I hope Ramos hasn't lost the players before we bloody began!!

To be honest it's the better version...as it turns out at the beginning and we don't have to suffer until november...
But let's just hope our squad won't be turned upside down with many newcomers and lots who are leaving our injured will be fit ready for the new season and we'll finally show where we belong.

Another of my biggest lows is that certain players have utterly regressed.
Lennon;
Robbo;
Dawson.

These were three of our very best players a couple of seasons ago.
Now we're talking about replacing them.
Goes to show you can't take anything for granted in the topsy turvy world of football.

Yup very true. I think the biggest disappointment is that at the moment for me there's only four players who I'm certain will be in the squad next season and they are Hutton, Woodgate, Bale and Keane (and King if he's fit).

That's a very sad state of affairs.

What about Modric?
Malbranque will def be in the squad (if not the team) and so will zokora as he has proved very adaptable.

The only player who has excited me this season (other than our new signings) is Huddlestone. He hasn't been consistent but has shown signs of brilliance for such a young lad.

Yep, its a disappointment alright, considering the amount of money spent on our squad over the last few seasons. The problem with constantly changing the squad is it takes time for players to learn each others game, so with the expected overhaul again this summer, and even with a top coach like Ramos in charge, its going to take a while to get where we want to be.
