I haven't given a toss about international football since Lineker retired and we failed to make USA '94. These days I just watch the first round of matches and pick the team who's style impresses me the most. It's never England.

It's bad that international footy is at this stage in this country.

I'm like you lot, couldn't care less about England with the constant failures.

I do look forward to the Euros to watch the Dutch though.

Never really cared about England since 1998. Wouldn't say I wanted them to lose but I'd be smiling if they got hammered in one of the games.

No Walker and probably no Parker helps that decision quite a bit, although if Defoe scores a couple I'd probably want them to hang on.

England's style of play is usually pretty uninspiring so it's always 50/50 whether I can be arsed to watch them or not

I'd prefer it if the England manager just picked the 11 most entertaining flair-players and see what happened

100% behind them. Gutted I can't go but wedding comes first at the moment plus I'm on honeymoon for a portion of the tournament ( schoolboy error I know, I know )
I have been an englandfan member for 6 years now, go to all home games if possible and get a few away in too, but not as many as I would like to.

If England somehow fumble their way to the knockout stages I fully expect those that "couldn't care less" to don their 98 ( insert year that you gave up on the national side ) shirts and go down to the local to support the boys!!!

Anyone who is disillusioned with the game and the money involved should look to international football I think. Sheikhs and Russian oligarch's can't buy world cups ( well they can buy the hosting of them! ) or European championships.

Well I must say that i made the thread in anger with Chelsea's CL win and i would love to see England win the Euros. What annoys me is the fact we don't encourage the right players to progress. I remember doing some amateur coaching with an under 11's team when i was at uni. I remember one of the coaches, who was a professional footballer in his time, saying to me this kid could go far as he was athletic and powerful. This summed up how our kids are being taught to play football and what a footballer should be, it is all about power and strength. We haven't taken notice of who is winning the international competitions and not training and educating our kids about technique. Just seems like we have a stupid fascination with 'spirit' and 'passion'.

To be honest I'd sooner see Rafa's Holland and our Croatian boys do well rather than England.

Will never support an England team that contains a pair of total ****s like Terry and Lampard!

However i will watch it with the boys in the boozer so we can shout as much abuse at those 2 ****s as we can muster!

I was thinking what are the chances that England get to a penalty shoot out and both Lampard and Cole miss there's?

It would be typical they score them for Chelsea and screw them up for England.

I would have loved the new England manager to be someone brave who would come in and drop all the old guard in favour of a young England team. They've failed us enough already, now is the time to hand the stage to the younger generation.

Drop the golden generation!?! Are you mad?

But seriously, I can't understand why Hodgson didn't drop the old guard and call up a young squad. The fans and media aren't expecting anything from the Euros so why not give the youngsters that will be playing in the World Cup in 2014 tournament experience.

As for supporting England, I want too, I really do, but I find it so hard. I dislike a lot of the English media and fans in the build up to and during tournaments. I detest the England band; I like the Great Escape, I like the Italian Job, but I don't want to hear those two tunes throughout every single game. One of the things that makes British football so special is the atmosphere generated by fans chanting but that's drowned out by the Self Preservation Society, etc.

I can fully understand why Hodgson kept those guys in sadly. He's a typical yes man. The perfect manager for the FA.

I agree with wanting England to lose because the team is full of wankers, and I couldn't give a toss about international football either so if and when Ireland crash out I won't be shedding many tears, as I said in the qualifiers, it'd be a better tournament without us because we play shit football.

Dunno how bothered I will be this tournament, will have to wait and see.

The last few though have left me at the end of my patience with the national team, 2006 the team just gave insipid displays and then in the QF it was basically Owen Hargreaves (a Canadian really, via Germany) battling away on his own as the rest stood around looking like they didnt give a shit, 2008 we couldnt even qualify we were that inept and then 2010 was embarassing throughout.

To see the same players constantly given another chance to disappoint and look like they have better things to do, it makes you wonder whats the point of giving them your support.

Agree although you've gotta hop on the bandwagon hax, at least we get three days where we can get drunk and no one will give a crap.

Um now Martin Kelly has been called up for the Norway game. Martin fucking Kelly, seriously? Liverpool fans had been claiming that they had the best players so Roy picks them all. How is Martin Kelly even close to the England squad?

Stewart Downing is the surprise for me.......and the ommission of Micah Richards! Like who thinks Glenn Johnson is better than Richards? Reckon Johnson even knows Richards is better!
