Sadly this is still the case for me and a win against Brazil in a meaningless game doesn't change that.

I still don't really understand why teams have friendly matches other than perhaps in the build up to a major tournament.

Sandro bothered.

He would have started if fit.

Does anyone else think Neymar is over-rated? Everytime I have watched him he flatters to deceive.

Watched Spain - Wales - England and SSN but no particular order

But as much as it really irks me, Wilshere is very very good.

Sadly you are right. If they were ever sensible enough to get in a decent holding midfielder, any combination of Wilshere, Cazorla and Arteta could be really dangerous.

Although obviously providing chances to Gervinho is like giving food to a man with no mouth. Ultimately pointless.

The annoying this is he seems like he'll be loyal to Arsenal.. while Bale has been a bit ambiguous.

Yeah loyal for 120k a week (or whatever it is they have put him on).

I reckon Bale would be a hell of a lot more 'loyal' if we could offer the wages the Scum do.

On an England note, I think if England base their midfield around Wilshere and Cleverley in the next few years then they'll have a good midfield to build from.

Neymar is shit. And a ponce.
Get off the fence.

Haven't seen much of him myself. Just heard the usual stuff about Barca being willing to throw $40m his way. Did nothing to impress me last night if I'm honest. Obviously everyone has a bad game and you can't judge a player on 90 minutes alone but for a player who someone is willing to part with amount of money for, you'd hope he was a bit fucking spesh. Not just a talented youngster.

There's no denying he's naturally gifted. He displayed plenty of skills and ability at the Olympics last year to prove as much. But I get the impression he's like the ultimate Youtube footballer. Plenty of good highlights of flashy tricks, mazy dribbles and cheeky free kicks. But little substance beyond that. If he ever does have the guts to come to Europe I expect he'd struggle. I don't ever see him playing in England as he'd likely get broken in half by the likes of Ryan Shawcross in the space of a minute.

And his ridiculous dive against Team GB in the pre Olympic friendly showed me that he is a complete tart.

That was the worse Brazil squad I've seen for sometime, they definitely won't win the world cup especially if they have to roll out Ronaldinho. As for England, they will build up the usual media storm and then crash and burn.

I know what you mean. Bit unfair to throw out names like Zidane (true legend) etc but the hype at his age is similar, from memory. Bit different as the internet was a different place when Zidane made his move to Juve. Even before that, when you saw him play as a gangly youngster in France, there was skill and an esquisite touch of course, but he oozed quality. Even duirng a quiet game for him, he'd do something. Try and make something happen. He stood out. Different level.

There's no argument that Neymar is exciting and will probably have a good career. I'm not convinced he will though, not in Yoorup. He looked like a kid still, which I guess he is considering his age but man, all the smoke being blown up his arse, I expected him to run the show. Spain would deffo be the league for him but even so, not sure he'll be the superstar it seems the hype machine has labelled him as. The prices being spunked on potential these days is frightening. The kind of money that used to guarantee you a top quality player who will be a success.

Still Barca hit more often than not. I'm just a schlub tapping out incoherent rambling on an anonymous footy forum. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Neymar is shit. And a ponce.

Immense skills but his lack of physicality is exposed against European teams. That, added to the fact that he's not as quick as someone like Messi, means it's unlikely that he'll ever come anywhere near to reaching the level of Ronaldo and Messi, the two players with whom he is most frequently compared.

Where was the mighty Damiao? Injured? Or has he fallen behind our previous "Brazilian number 9" targets of yesteryear, Fred and Fabiano?

Puts in to perspective his role as Brazil's alleged main striker. One of the glaring problems with this current Brazil side is the lack of a genuine top draw centre forward.
