Can't wait to see the Arsenal banter with your mates: "Yeah, but our owner made more money than yours! SO there!!!"
Debt is fine though as long as it's serviceable and evidently that is the case.I
I agree but my understanding is currently we are paying the interest on the debt at around £20m a season but not sure if the actual repayment of the debt is happening?Debt is fine though as long as it's serviceable and evidently that is the case.
I couldn't care less about banter with Arsenal mates mocking Spurs for financial gains. Or Spurs "fans" who take the piss out of their own club. Can't wait to see the Arsenal banter with your mates: "Yeah, but our owner made more money than yours! SO there!!!"
Have always held the belief that we were doing things correctly - building a sustainable club with no reliance on a benefactor and that we would ultimately benefit as the cash generation grew and those individuals would get fed up with their toys and wall away.I couldn't care less about banter with Arsenal mates mocking Spurs for financial gains. Or Spurs "fans" who take the piss out of their own club.
What I do care about is the club becoming a financial success off the pitch so we can be a sustainable success on it for years to come.
If there's one thing years of being overshadowed by Arsenal and other teams in the Premier League has shown us, it's that financial clout is everything. We're not going to magic success - we need money.
Levy is doing what's needed. Arsenal fans will be crying inside reading that. The writing is on the wall now unless something changes. They have a couple more years before it really starts to tell.
So let those mates enjoy themselves for the moment. We'll have the last laugh.

Do you also see dead people as well as into the future ?The main reason we won nothing from the conception of the PL until 2105 was we were competing with teams who were generating 3x-4x as much revenue as us, and subsequently paying a lot more, attracting the best players, as well as poaching our best players (Carrick, Berbatov, Keane, Campbell, Bale, Modric). I think we all have different opinions on the investment in the first team for Poch whilst building costs of the new stadium nearly doubled. Finally, we have guaranteed income streams that allow us to really compete with our rivals (exc. financially doped Man C and Newcastle). I am not saying Levy is the man to take advantage of this new found wealth (I have actually gone on record to say I think he needs to be replaced), but I am happy to acknowledge he has got us into the position of financial competitiveness. And it really is an amazing achievement. The stadium is his legacy and I remain convinced it will be seen retrospectively as very significant.
p.s. re: record debt comments. Levy has secured very low interest rates until the early 2050’s. Interest is something like £20M a year, whilst moving our matchday revenue from £20m per year to £120m. Fantastic business.
the important thing as much as how much money is available, is now it's spent. We know that we have spent decent money in the past but not always wisely.I couldn't care less about banter with Arsenal mates mocking Spurs for financial gains. Or Spurs "fans" who take the piss out of their own club.

Yeah I'm really not convinced about this.I couldn't care less about banter with Arsenal mates mocking Spurs for financial gains. Or Spurs "fans" who take the piss out of their own club.

Exactly.Like others I have also held the notion that we are doing things the right way and when the stadium revenue increases we will be competitive with the top clubs. However, I now believe this will never happen for two reasons:
1. Enic & DL, who I believe will be just as tight with more money and will not be able to stop interfering with the managers at the club. They have also been extremely wasteful in the money they have spent on the team, see Ndombele, for example, all the N players in fact.
2. FFP looks like it is becoming a thing of the past, clubs like Chelsea, City and Newcastle will continue to throw money at every little problem, hoover up all the young talent and while we might spend a little more than we are now, but will be as far or further from the top clubs.
I hate myself for considering it, but the only way to compete nowadays is with a very rich sugar daddy who is willing to throw as much money at the team as possible. Arsenal are the perfect example, 3 yrs ago they were miles off the pace, but they have spent millions over the past two/three seasons and the money is starting to show on the pitch. City spend big and spend well and Newcastle are only getting started. On top of that some day UTD will get their act together as well, so unless we are willing to do similar it is impossible to see how we compete, can anyone see ENIC doing it. I certainly cannot.
Arsenal are going to win the league. I wouldn't mind having a little cry inside if I was going to win the league.I couldn't care less about banter with Arsenal mates mocking Spurs for financial gains. Or Spurs "fans" who take the piss out of their own club.
