gomes man of the match by a mile , he was the only one that was bothered out there
midfield all pathetic today , how the hell have some of you given man of the match to a midfielder ?? we were bossed from beginning to end and without defoe we had no pace or movement up front , poor defence was up against it for 90 mins

BAE is the goat option

Oooh. No need!
4 for Hudd is a joke!

Maybe I'm bashing again! But his reaction as Fabregas collected the ball to score the second was a picture. Yes Huddlestone, you're suppose to stand there and do nothing!

BAE for me. The team was poor but BAE, as he usually does, defensively reliable, gets his head up looks to move the ball quickly, uses the space he has to advance the ball.

Probably 6 for Gomes and Jenas, maybe 5.5 for Crouch for effort, not much for the rest, better just forgotten today.

The worst performance ive seen by a Tottenham team for a very long time. None of them deserve more than a five and most of them get 1 just for turning up.

As many have said ,the downside of playing Crouchie is that the other players take the easy route and tend to hoof it high at him . This gets cleared up quickly by the oppo and we're under pressure again .

Toothless today..and strangely (in comparison to Arry's overall tenure)
lacking in desire ...and cohesion .

Gomes 6

Corluka 6
King 4.5
Bassong 5.5
Ekotto 6

Bentley 4
Jenas 5.5
Hudd 4
Palacios 5

Keane 4.5
Crouch 5.5

And that's after several hours reflection and near forgivingness .

What did King do wrong?

Van Persie got in front of him for the first goal; the attacker always has the initiative but Gomes should have saved it though; he saved it but then it went under him, so he got there in time, but messed up.

The 3rd goal I need to see again.

Er, how about the fact that he was goalside of RVP for the first goal, but got beaten to the ball.

That he missed both the ball and Fabregash for the second. At least take the player out.

That he failed to stop the cross for the third.

He was more culpable that Gomes was today for the goals. I love the man, but he is not above criticism.

By the way guys, i think their first goal which come from a throw in wasn't their throw in, i slow-mo'd it on Sky + and im sure it come off an arsenal leg.

Also, their third goal, i think it was sagna passed it to someone up the line who got crunched by assou, whoever that was was offside. I paused it as the guy passed it and he is infront of our backline.

I wasn't sure whether to come on but other than people writing of King's career and a few other things, there isn't too much hysteria. I haven't seen the forum thread just front page.

But that was awful almost unreservedly. Keane's comments in the week weren't helpful (they were 'nail to the dressing room wall' nature probably for Wenger) and strictly not correct in my opinion, but are actually a red herring. It's not (just) that they have players who are better than ours and today were at almost full strength while we were without three of our best; it's attitude, drive and motivation which is illustrated by pressing off and on the ball.

When we had the ball in midfield, it looked as though we were down to ten men. There was no movement, Arsenal were fluid. You could have probably laid a string in a straight line between our four midfielders. On the ball, with the occasional exception of Jenas, there was no drive or initiative. Off the ball it was worse as this should be straigthforward to do, it requires physical fitness and motivation.

The key for me is we looked lax on the ball and lax off it. Arsenal were the polar opposite and therefore won three nil. They chased us, harried us and made us lose possession though sometimes it was made easy for them by Huddlestone, Palacios, Bentley and Jenas in rough order of culpability. Those three players (Jenas was good today) are good enough to play against Arsenal, it's their attitude that is missing- a real will, desire and belief to be better.

Defensively we fell apart after the first goal; no pressing (telling) from BAE or less so Keane and King being beaten by sheer desire from RVP. Gomes cannot be blamed, it was close to being a magnificent save.

The second goal could have been an audition for visualising what I am trying to say. It speaks for itself really.

I thought Keane should have stayed on. He was again sub par but he is always going to offer more than Pavlyychenko and was getting into some good positions and showing signs of linking up with Crouch. Keane being subbed seems to be the default substitution on 60 sometimes. I thought Crouch was excellent in the circumstances and showed excellent touches. He was up against it for so many reasons .

As far as Harry is concerned, I am not sure to what extent any of the above is attriubutable to him. He is clearly responsible for motivation as he should be lauded for it last year in saving our season but now he needs to go a step further. I am not sure why Krancjar wasn't playing, that would have made more sense in keeping the ball and using it intelligently. He wasn't brought on so maybe he is hurt- who knows? You always have to add that caveat as we are mere observers.

I think the idea of playing three centre mids wasn't a bad one, it would have just worked better with a pacey winger and obviously entrusts players themselves to play well. They played horribly.

Defensively we were let down by our best defender. All other three weren't great but King was at fault for all three goals. That is unbelievable, and as a trend impossible to really explain. Just an aberrant performance at the worst possible time.

This is just opinion, I may be wrong but it seems to me sometimes that most of the Spurs team is made up of players that are capable of being good enough to play in the CL and take their team there but without the self or received motivation to push themselves. I am not sure, now, if tattoos and nights out are somehow a symptom of this, perhaps a wacky thought- only the players themselves can know.

Agree with all that.

Keane's comments about us having a similar squad to Arsenal seems ironic - he must be the only one who believes that.

We had no self-belief and this translates to lack of ownership and creativity on the pitch. In the 2nd half all we did was hoof up to Crouch. Very disappointing.

Cowardice is infectious, as is lack of gut. Best example was the 2nd goal.

Crouch deserves credit. Stupid yellow card but he won a few balls upfront and actually fought. Jenas also tried and actually took players on. Hudd should hang his head in shame. Bentley showed some neat touches but wouldnt dig-in to help out; nothing changed there.

Gomes 5 - at fault for the first and third goals imo

Not his fault for the first goal, ball down that low, near his feet is very difficult to save, from that close as well.

Third goal he should have probably done better.

Gomes 3 - one decent save to deny Fabregas, but it was that good because his positioning was wrong at the start, then poor 1st goal and the 3rd his fault as well.

3rd goal he could have probably done better, but the first one, as I said above. Ball was low, and came from about 5 yards away, at pace. A good few keepers would have struggled to save it, especially a keeper of Gomes build.

Gomes, Hutton, Bentley & Pavlyuchenko .. they should be gone next transfer window.

Gomes gone next transfer window? So do you want Cudicini to be our number one goalkeeper then? The other three have hardly had a chance either this season.

What did King do wrong?

Van Persie got in front of him for the first goal; the attacker always has the initiative but Gomes should have saved it though; he saved it but then it went under him, so he got there in time, but messed up.

The 3rd goal I need to see again.

King was at fault for the first goal. He shouldn't have let Van Persie run in front of him like that. Second goal he dived in needlessly on Fabregas. Third goal, it's difficult to lay the blame with one person, because half the team fucking stopped to wave at the linesman anyway.

gomes man of the match by a mile , he was the only one that was bothered out there
midfield all pathetic today , how the hell have some of you given man of the match to a midfielder ?? we were bossed from beginning to end and without defoe we had no pace or movement up front , poor defence was up against it for 90 mins

Finally, some sense. Gomes is the one person we should be pretty thankful for, or today might have been a lot worse.

I guess we're just happy that he is catching corners and crosses now...

He's been doing it for a while actually.

Probably 6 for Gomes and Jenas, maybe 5.5 for Crouch for effort, not much for the rest, better just forgotten today.

That pretty much sums up the whole performance. They were the only ones who looked like they cared at all today.

JJ ran with the ball when no one else would move for him. He actually tried a bit. Even though the game was gone.

Crouchy was up against it from the start. We kept lumping balls to him and he won quite a few. Tidy finish too for his disallowed goal.

We're all pretty miffed at what went on today, no doubt about that. The whole team is to blame really. The Keane bashing is a joke too. Everyone was poor bar Gomes, JJ and Crouch, and even then, that might be me being a bit generous.

Not bothering to rate em. They all vary from a decidedly average 6 to a sub-par 4.

Ledley had his nightmare game for the season.

Bentley/Keane/Hudd/Palacios/BAE/King were atrocious.

When Crouch plays we hoof it. Simple. It's an easy ball for a stupid, dim-wit player to just fucking lump it forward to the big guy.

Lack of stomach, fight, grit, call it what you like. Very, very disappointing. Bad team selection, even worse performance. Modric please come back.

Succintly put. I can't agree that Gomes was at fault for the goal or even take away anything from the save he made at 0-0 for being out of position.

It wasn't good enough. We have a very bad habit of ball watching, our reaction speed to danger has not improved in fact it's poor, (no matter what people said about Zokora at least he reacted and moved around the pitch.) and we've been shown up over the last two games regards to this.

Another thing about Spurs that gets me so anger is our lack of courage. If we go a goal down, its very rare we can come back. If we don't score early or first, heads drop and we just give up.

Huddlestone...I.ve been rooting for Thudd a long time and feel he needed a good run in the team. I'm now having second thoughts (Jenas offers more) if he can't progress into a player whom you can build a team around... then its back to being a squad player on the bench, to be used sparingly.

Crouch. bless him for his effort but, our pattern of play is horrendous when his in the team. Its not his fault we lump it but we do. He hasn't got the pace to get past a player or real strength to hold up play...Crouch like all strikers relies on service unfortunately its a long ball.

Those that criticize Lennon be aware. Without him in the team theirs not thrust, other than Jenas, Defoe IMO Bale in attacking position we have no pace of dribbling ability.

Keane, thought he did a job, was fairly disciplined had an opening to score but again not quite good enough around the box or strong enough.

Gomes-5 World class save in the first half against Fabregas, I personally thought the third goal he was at fault.

Corluka-5 Defended OK but not a wing back, how he missed Lennon.

King-5 Bad day alround beaten by the movement of Van Rapist for the first goal, haven't seen so many mistakes from King in one game.

Bassong-7 He has a future.

Assou-Ekotto-5 erratic, unbalanced, was a bit better when Bale came on to support.

Huddlestone-4 Poor. Very disappointed with selection of passes and work rate, thought this would be the perfect game for him to dictate our play...as I personally did not think Arsenal to be that Strong in the middle...Shown how to control a game again from a master (Fabregas).

Jenas-6 Energy. Did double work load, when the opp was there run with the ball.

Palacios-5 I'm starting to question our system / personale / togetherness / committals of others around..ie the ball watching syndrome the man is over worked like Zokora was. Over the last couple games Palacios looks dead on his feet after 75min. ( don't care what people said Zokora never faded, what an engine he had, esp playing the sort of system we play by arguabley the players too (pass the buck). Tho maybe not as tenacious but definitely an optional loss)

Bentley-4 Granted, he needs more games to hit real form but it was the same set of rules by which he plays...and most of his deliveries were short and mainly delivered from the wrong areas, no pace no tracking back.

Keane-5 Did a job. I don't now what else to say about Keane. IMO hes wasting away at the moment and really needs a spell on the bench along with others.

Crouch-4 Not his fault his long, slow, and needs 10 efforts on goal before he puts one away. In fairness he did have poor service but we need strikers willing to make things happen (Rooney, Defoe IMO,) unfair but hope you get the drift.

Subs
Bale-6 Good to see him back...more please on the left mid.

Hutton-?

Redknap-5 first 35-40min good, than we just fell apart, basically to our knees like a one dollar hooker (not to say I've been with any), not for the first time either.

It was far to easy for Arsenal....Top4 I don't think so.
