Surely if we can't shift Kaboul it should be him we should let go on loan.

Dier is a better centre half.

Could leave on loan according to this (written by Tom Collomosse, who is reliable when it comes to Spurs). He also says that Chiriches and Kaboul are also up for sale and it's unlikely Dier will leave if one of those two do, and Pochettino still want to strengthen the defence- with Hector Moreno being a target.

Best possible news, would happily lose Kaboul and Vlad to keep Dier together with Moreno....... best deal available, but we are Spurs so you just know its not going to happen

If it helps him to improve as a player & he's going to be seeing regular game time, it's probably the best thing for all parties?

But how many times have loans really helped us and player comes back a lot better and establishes a spot in first team? So far in recent times can only think of Mason

I think he'll be a monster of a centre back for us in a couple of years. He'd be my third choice at the moment, so would be strange to loan him out.

he's got absolutely everything. Needs to stay and be drilled in Pochettino ways.

Guess it depends on the others.....if we can't shift any of the others and we are still looking to bring in Moreno then getting Dier out where he would be getting consistent game time is a good idea. Keeping him around as a 5th/6th CB (which seems to be where he is falling at the moment even though i think he should be 3rd/4th personally) isn't going to get him enough game time to really help him improve.

Really? He's been flying up the wing.

More than enough pace for a CB, well above average.
Not knocking the lad but he's not quick, if you think he is then fair enough. John Terry has no pace and as probably the best CB in the Prem this season, so for me pace is not something that is vital in a CB, just saying he hasnt got "everything" IMO.

I am still a bit disappointed that he only got 1 and a half games as a CB for us in competitive games. It is not fair to judge him on his perfomances at RB. I would keep him and give him games as CB in the EL, FA Cup and games were Faz is not available.

I see your point. I guess it could be argued that, eventually, it worked for Townsend. And there wasn't really a manager who he worked under that didn't have anything but good things to say about Harry Kane. Kenny Jackett in particular was desperate to have Kane back when AVB recalled him from his loan at Millwall ( http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...es-another-Millwall-loan-spell-for-Harry-Kane ) . I'd say those years of being educated in the rough lower leagues are what have shaped Kane in particular to become the lad that almost everyone is now praising.

I find the Dier saga very strange. He refused to play RB for England U 21 to train at CB for Spurs then MoPo slapped him down saying he should be grateful getting a place at any position.
Would love some ITK about this.
Of course he fucked up against Newcastle but I have not been disappointed with his performances-quite the reverse.

Better than Fazio. Would keep.

Ha! I like Dier but I don't know how you can say he is better than Fazio.

Dier has only played half a premier league game as a CB for us. Where as Fazio cementing his place alongside Vertonghen has arguably been central to our recent upturn in form.

Dier might turn out to be the better player but I don't think anyone can comprehensively state he is better at this moment in time.
