Are you kidding? Did you see that abomination he is sporting now? He used to be all pretty Travis Bickle with the crazy eyes and now he looked all 'normal' in the preseason photos. Potential fatherhood may have mellowed him. PL ankles may be safe for another year.

I have been a Lamela fan for a long time. But to suggest he should start over Alli is just dumb. Sorry.

That's your opinion.

For me Lamela is the one player that never give up. Even against Newcastle 2 seasons ago you could see he was the only one putting in a real shift despite being several goals down.

He brings creativity, work rate as well as goals and assist. Jan said it best when he said that you feel the difference when Lamela plays and when he's out.

Alli is a top player and we're lucky to have so many talented players, but if Lamela come back to old form we either have to drop Alli or Dier depending on 3-4-3 or 4-2-3-1.

Still trying to figure out how Lamela is "type casted" for only one formation. Exactly how can he not fit in 343?

Dont think that's an issue with Lamela. It's more that the formation has one less att mid position. Making the competition tough with Eriksen and Dele

Dele will never be dropped. He is talismanic for us.

Lamela gets better the more he's injured.

Out for nearly a year and suddenly he's going to oust the two most productive midfielders in our best ever Premier League season

Such a ridiculous post
Is it? I dont think so some how. Just depends what you are looking for in particular games. There were games last season where I would have opted for a fully fit Lamela, than either one of Son, Dele and even Eriksen. Liverpool away last season stands out

I feel it's the other way around. People forget just how good he is and how he's the epitome of a Poch player. It's true he might never get back to his pre injury form, but how so many claim Alli is the better player baffles me.

Do the same people also think Alli is better than Eriksen?

I think Lamela is really Derren Brown in a mask.

Mate. I want to give your first two paragraphs a winner rating and the third paragraph a disagree.

Or Son for that matter.
No I think an argument can be made for Lamela starting ahead of Son in some matches (not automatically though), especially the big matches where Lamela seems to thrive whereas Son can sometimes struggle.
