We got Capoue on the cheap due to his contract situation,
couple of years ago and they asked for £20m.
Don't see why we should sell or take a cut on the asking price,
if Napoli want him they can pay market value for a France international.
Hope he stay though, if Sherwood doesn't rate him there's a good chance that our next manager will - same with Holtby and Lamela. If they need game time it's better to loan them out this season and see what happens in the summer. At least don't lose money on them, they are top players you'll envy watching other teams in the Champions League should we let them go

If team persists with his no DM and young Bentilab he will be gone in the summer.
Capoue is a fantastic talent and should not sold until the manager situation is sorted.
Same with all other players, wait till the summer and then make decisions.
Im with a couple of other members on Sherwood, sorry but Tims i dont know the players is rubbish.
What you didnt watch any of AVBs games?
You were on the transfer committee and you dont know anything about the players?
Sorry im not that guilible and dont buy it.
Tim should not be afforded any money in this transfer window.

I don't see why we would sell him unless we could turn a significant quick profit. We got him at a great price. He is incredibly versatile as he plays CDM and provides cover at CB, which has obviously been an issue for us with injuries. I think he has performed well, especially before his big injury. We need a larger squad and as long as he is happy here selling him seems very premature.

just a reminder:
- after his first game we were all saying about how classy he is
- then he picked an ankle injury
- and now after just 5 months we're about to sell him?

funny..

I don't think we will see anyone our summer signing leave

Perhaps a "Bale" type offer might just get people thinking otherwise it will be a closed shop for the summer signings

I hope you're right. We need to give these guys a chance and Capoue has had some bright performances for us.

A DM playing at CB really isn't very versatile at all, let alone incredibly. Apart from that, against serious opposition with fast skilful strikers he really isn't up to the job at CB, as the Liverpool game demonstrated all too horribly. Maybe that was part of the reasoning when we signed him, but we need a specialist CB ASAP.

He really hasn't looked that good since he came back from injury, and his passing at OT was woeful. I honestly don't see him being chosen ahead of Sandro—does anyone else—and he has a problem now in that, unlike a few seasons ago when Shirley Temple would have beefed up our midfield, all our CMs are very effective ball-winners.

Agreed, this is premature, and I'm sure, as someone's already suggested, that it's his agent shit-stirring.

Could see this happening just because it seems TS doesn't rate Etienne. And looking at our crop of midfielders, i would rather lose Etienne than Holtby.
Looks like Holtby will be the one to go, so can't see TS giving up 2 MF player's especially given our injury woes!

Selling Capoue will prove to me that Sherwood is clueless....hope its bollox but the way he is leaving him out suggests just that and he isn't keen .... that is a massive blunder..imo

Not sure if/why we're debating selling anyone. Has the length of our injury list not convinced people at the club that we need everyone?

Not sure how fit Capoue is at the moment but that doesn't stop Dembele turning out week in week out. We haven't seen anything of what Capoue is capable of and the fact that Bentaleb seems higher up the pecking order is ridiculous IMO. I will be absolutely gutted if we sell him.

I'm really disappointed by this report re. TS and Capoue. Although it has been "sourced" by the Sun (i'll take a punch of salt with the bullshit served).

But he hasn't been selected by TS when he could have been.

I think the majority here believe he is a great squad player and needs to stay... i agree and hope he does.

The problem is... some players are being seen as isolated by TS and this has caused rumours of rifts between the manager and player - when in fact they were/are recovering from small injuries. i.e. Holtby

If being obsessed with the youth players he nurtured costs him his job more full him , but that dont help us this season .am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt up till the city game but if he dosnt play a holding midfielder in that game . Grrr

Agree with you, but waiting til then and just pitching in a DM who hasn't kicked a ball for weeks won't do the job either. Capoue needs some game time, end of.

13 points out of 15, TBF he's not doing to badly is he? If he keeps this up there wont be a "next manager".
