He's not wrong is he? After Sherwood claimed to not know much about him...

I find it strange how I have more knowledge on foreign players than some managers/pundits/ex-professionals

The most interesting pundits in my opinion are often half autistic journalists that live and breathe football. Ex players often have too much faith in their own knowledge and spout retarded stuff with an amount of arrogance that is baffling (i.e. Jamie Redknapp, Alan Shearer, basically everyone else).

My biggest concern about the retention or not of Capoue is that the January window is about desperate signings and opportunistic chances

if Napoli (or anybody else) pays over the odds I would be disappointed but accept otherwise he stays and we sort out the playing staff in the summer

My biggest concern is that Capoue is one of the more technically able players even though labelled a DM and I am always disappointed to see good footballers leave

As I remember, Capoue was bought mainly as a quality backup to Daws (after Gallas left).
Sure he could also play DM, but AVB was none too keen on DMs any more than Sherwood,
shipping out both Parker and Hudd and loaning out Livermore.

Maybe Capoue is easily good enough to play DM in the prem,
and sure in retrospect, he should have started against manc,
but I think we all agree that we never want to see him in defence again,
and that is where we need cover.

Livermore has played at CB for us, and like it or not,
that is the main reason he is returning imo.

Playing computer games and reading World Soccer doesn't mean you have actual knowledge, more like you've bought the hype.

Keeping Capoue could very well prove to be the "signing" of the window. Think if he is given even some significant time in the Europa League, he could start to prove his worth and fight for a first-team place. Remember he was one of our best players on the pitch until his injury this season.

Or alternatively he'll be shite and we'll sell him in the summer. But at least we'll know he was shite instead of just a guess from a manager who "doesn't know" the player.

In Capoue's statement/interview he complains about being played at Centre Back and therefore the English are ignorant about foreign playerso_O Wasn't it that well known Englishman named AVB that played him in that position?:clown:

Yeah, I mean it's fucking mental he's been asked to play in a position he's played before when 3 of our centre-halves are injured.

Think he will feature a lot under Pochettino as one of the 2 holding midfielders, probably with Paulinho

I hope he regains his edge irt speed. When he first got here he was a force when he played, then he got injured and seemed to have lost a yard when he came back. If he doesn't regain that zip about him he might not make it here under poch's reign. I like him a lot so hope he cuts it.

Capoue would fit in brilliantly with Poch's system, so I hope this is either bullshit or we fight to keep him.

As said above, Capoue will thrive under poch, IMO at sandro's expense. Comes down to ability on the ball. Holtby will be another one to see his stock rise. Only way I'll be happy with this deal is if Koke comes the other way :D
