Even if he would join (and I think it's fantasy) would this be the right way to spend the Berbatov money ?

Wouldn't we be better off trying to get someone who plays simmilarly to Berbatov who we know can do a job for a couple of seasons ie Fredi Kanoute and spend the surplus on one kick arse central midfielder ?

I can't help but hope that there is no truth to stories like this and the Ronaldinho and Henry ones. Fantastic players, but no way are they are going to come to Spurs, and we could waste a lot of time and effort chasing them, as their agents use us to flush out bids from clubs they really do want to go to. It would be typical of our Board to become fixated on pulling off a glamour signing rather than concentrating on addressing the obvious deficiencies in our squad.

Agree 100% - We have absolutely NO CHANCE of signing these players and like you I sincerely hope that the board don't waste their time even trying!
