Has anyone been forwarded the WhatsApp thing that’s doing the rounds about this?

I’ve seen it but it’s obviously speculation and may not be ideal to post up what has been said.
What’s this? Obviously probably not best to share here, can we get a jist of it?

It’s already been debunked.
I’ve actually just seen the debunking.
So it’s not worth commenting on for the time being. Best to wait until actual news comes out, I think.

Straying a bit off topic ( and only relevant now as opposed to when I was in my early 20’s) but you can blame shit like Love Island for that.

Ironically painted as “reality TV”, when it fact it couldn’t be further from reality.

Should be one for the Grinds my Gears thread really, but “reality TV” has a whole heap of shit to answer for imo.

A good friend of mine used to be a producer for the God awful Ex On The Beach and now works on Love Island.

Not only are all the contestants hired from agencies (as I'm sure we all already knew), but the whole idea that none of them have ever met before they arrive is apparently bullshit. They have a month before filming where they all go off to retreats (separate guys and girls) and basically spend the entire time getting "bikini ready" - constantly working out, barely eating, constantly tanning etc. Half the guys are on gear and according to my friend, many of the ones which aren't, turn to it during their retreat time as a means to very quickly achieve gains in hardly any time, especially if they feel they're falling behind.

Oh and of course as you’d expect, at least 80% of what happens is scripted or set up.

I'm sure we all knew just how artificial all those bullshit shows are, but those kind of details show just how damagingly unrealistic they portray everyone on them.

It boggles my mind that people even want to work behind the scenes on shows like that. No offence meant towards your friend but I could never bring myself to have any part in creating cesspools of shit like that. If he's a producer surely he has the experience and qualifications to do something better.

I was offered a job at GB News (true story) and would have turned it down on moral grounds no matter what they offered me. The same would go for any sort of fake reality crap.

Haha it’s funny you should say that - she actually said to a couple of us a few weeks ago “I’ve really made it now, I’m producing proper serious tv - hi-brow stuff”.

We spat our fucking beers across the room and she got quite put out - she genuinely believes this is like top-of-her-game stuff.

If Love Island is considered high brow that's me done.

He slept with an escort and didn’t know she was 14. The pimp then blackmailed him for 2 million. He refused so they went to the police. I’ve seen the girl, she defo doesn’t look 14.

He’s now in a safe house paid for by Everton but his wife has left him and police likely to charge him.

I mean I guess it's that idea of a show that hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions watch, VS a show that might be 'hi-brow' but no-one watches or has no cultural impact

But that's going off topic a little. As Love Island and other stuff have been mentioned in this thread though... I mean sure 'Reality TV' has definitely warped the way a lot of us view or see young people and age is increasingly a harder factor to clock just on looks alone for sure. Still doesn't seem like the best excuse for stories like this. Like if you're a 31 year old, you may not be able to tell between 15, 17 and 18... but you can tell she ain't 31 or close to that. Yes that goes into morality a little than legality but still...

Wasn’t this debunked as a fake Whatsapp story last night?

He slept with...

First off I'd say this is crossing the line into libel. Please remember that you are responsible for what you post on here.
Secondly, posting as fact something which is a rumour (and I believe a debunked rumour) is pretty stupid.

this is why I will never sleep with an escort/prostitute - no matter how lonely or desperate I could get in the future - you don't know their age, whether they are doing it of their own free will etc.

With an escort you can always tell their age by the registration plate (y)

You could still be in the same circumstance if you met a regular girl in a bar, probably even more dangerous as escorts/prostitutes are meant to be verified.

Sadly with the free availability of porn, online forums promoting sexual fetishes with in the under 18 age group and the state of popular social media, children are growing up far to fast, I have no idea who the player is (I would seriously advise anyone naming anyone by name at this stage). IMO we need to hurry the fuck up and sort out the availability of anything that can sexualise a "child" online, terrestrial and sky TV have clear rules, for me I have no idea why the internet should be any different considering the number of under 18s that use it as their go to form of entertainment.
