"Going into the Euros I wanted to be match-fit. The original plan was to do a season at Spurs and after the Euros still have a year left at Real Madrid.

"My plan is to go back, that's as far I have planned."

The fuck you mean “please keep up”?
Really. He can't say anything else. He wasn't asked if he was staying at Spurs he was asked if it was a distraction about his future. He said his future was one loan season at Spurs after that he had to go back to Madrid. Until then legally he couldn't say anything else. He never said at any point he wanted to go back to Madrid only that it all that was planned. He is under contract to Real Madrid and not to us.

He hasn't said he wants to go back to Madrid. His loan spell ends so he will have to go back to Madrid. We have the option to extend his loan if we don't that is what will happen. Please keep up, we all know the situation with Bale (except a minor few). Ndombele, Sissoko and Aurier start ahead of Bale is ridiculous.
And another thing, Bale is neither a centre midfielder or a right back, so yes, this is ridiculous.

West ham should push the boat out for Kane and Son then. Our we buy thier defence and midfield.

The interesting thing here now is do we follow their model?
For a longish time we were champions league and were ‘too good’ for the Maddison’s. Leicester bought them, developed them and have overtaken us.
Now we can’t attract Europe’s finest, if we ever did! Now we should be more shrewd in spotting and buying the upcoming talent ourselves.
I’ve always felt we fell between signing the Manes at top dollar but missing out on Kantes because they wouldn’t be worth the game time risk.
Perhaps unlike before, they’ll definitely should get good game time now.
can’t remember the exact info, but there’s was a crazy stat about the profit Leicester have made selling players on this last few years.
Time for a refresh.

I guess the flip would be, if we had a sure thing at RB, Bale would be more likely to play, given that tracking back to support his Teammate would be required less.
Maybe his attacking returns out way the
Bale is definitely a luxury out defensive play can’t cover atm.
Sure that’s why Sissoko gets a start too, to help the shaky full back.

Bales talent is far higher that Aurier’s or Sissoko’s. Yes apples and oranges though

I’d love to have Bale I’m starting every week. Just wish we had a better defence and midfield to let him freely roam forward and positively influence the game for us.

Think he's superb and CAN run a game.

However, our midfield is a million miles away from what it was and if you could go get some consistent performers who give you a better platform you'd be wise to do it.

Our midfield isn't functional. I'd like to see him under a new coach nect year but of he doesnt start to run things consistently we should bass the centre on Lo Celso instead.
2 quick points about this ..... he doesn’t have the stamina to be a 8 and he doesn’t have the end product to be a 10

Two managers now, with a combined 5 Champions League wins between them as managers, aren’t really interested in playing Bale anymore.

The old Bale you simply couldn’t leave out, but I think it’s quite telling now that two of the most decorated managers in world football don't think he’s worth it anymore.

Yeah he’s looked good in the odd game, but on the whole he’s been massively underwhelming. He wouldn’t get into any of the top sides anymore, he wouldn’t even be on City’s bench

good point.
This is where we need to set a formation and sign the best player to meet that need.
We have a lot of players that I still couldn’t for sure say what their best position was. All of that Dele, Bergwijn, Moura, Lamela, Bale, Lo Celso, NDombele, even Son(?) up top tonight(?) I love some of this bunch but where do they actually fit?
In fact there are very few I could!

I completely disagree. We haven’t been better than Leicester for a while now, I’m not interested in overrating our squad like this. Their goalkeeper is just as good, if not better. Their defence is much better and their midfield better too. It’s a big reason why they are always above us and play better football than us.

West Ham are a couple of good signings away from having a better team too, whether we want to admit it or not. Their keeper is just as good if not better. Defence is better, midfield just as good. Performing better.

Blind arrogance will get us nowhere.

Sorry but in your original post you claimed that he wanted to go back to Madrid. He never said at any time he wants to go back there. He can't express that he wants to stay here o not, because of his contract with Madrid, the club that owns his contract. Please show me/us the point where he said he wanted to go back to Madrid.

Nice response. Very arrogant.

Schmiechal = Lloris
Pereira > Aurier
Evans > Alderweireld
Soyoncu > Dier
Justin < Reguilon
Ndidi > Hojbjerg
Tielemans > Sissoko
Maddison > Ndombele (at least atm)
Barnes = Lucas
Vardy < Kane
Perez < Son

I don’t see where the arrogance even comes from. We are not better than Leicester. We are also 6 points behind them and they’ve got a game in hand. They beat us 0-2 at WHL in our only game so far this season. You do remember what happened in the title race between us as well, right?

Rice, Coufal, Soucek and Antonio would all start for us too. Probably a Diop or a Balbuena would perform better than the Dier’s and Sanchez’s as well tbh.

Blind arrogance will get us nowhere.

He ‘wants’ to go back or he ‘plans’ to go back. However pedantic you want to get, he has said he ‘plans’ to go back. He doesn’t ‘plan’ on being here. It would be quite strange for him to plan something he doesn’t want to happen, no?

Is there a place for complete luxury players like this in today’s game though? I honestly don’t think there is anymore.

Jose has to go once the Carabao Cup final is over, no matter what result.

Even under a caretaker manager for the remainder of the season, I think we will see improvements from the players and whoever comes in as caretaker will probably use more of Bale, Toby, Rodon and GLC.
He has to go now and needed to go a few weeks ago. There is a slim chance we manage to win the final as is. There is no chance in hell we win with Jose. We have no identity as a team. None of the players are playing to the best of their abilities bar Kane & Hugo. Its a disaster. Even Jose knows this is a disaster. He’s not an idiot.

A good comparative analysis. Disheartening to see the level of quality in our team. And in terms of the squad - even with Bale, Dele, Bergwyn, Venicius on the bench; wouldn't see much of a shift. And the likes of Lamela, Winks, Sanchez, Davies; Le Celso are really mid table players at their best.

Even if it was argued that Jose is not getting them to perform at their best, it is quite obvious that with the exception of Kane, Sonny and maybe Ndombele, its a fairly average almost mid table squad.

I forgot Fofana, possibly the best centre back out of all. Players like Praet, Castagne, Iheanacho etc. are all of a similar quality to our bench players too. Some fans are just too biased though I’m afraid.

He can't plan to do anything else, because it's out of his hands. He was asked a question prior to a Wales match about if the if it was a distraction that next season wasn't settled. He gave the only answer that he could. He can't plan to play for us next season because we haven't offered him that plan, until we do (or another club come in for a loan deal) he has to plan to stay at Real Madrid for one more year. It really is that simple.
