Absolutely not looking forward to this one.
The XI that MoPo is likely to pick will not produce a fluent attacking style or exciting football.
But we are due a better performance and Harry is due a goal so I think a punt on a 2-2 draw wouldn't be silly.
I can't even say roll on next season because it will be 4-5-1 again.

The aftermath of this match will be fascinating.

If we win and Liverpool fuck up so we finish 5th, people will say that this season is a success.

If we win or draw and finish where we are (6th), people will say this season has been par for the course.

If we fuck up and finish 7th, this season will be deemed as a failure to some extent.

Still a fuck up if we finish 5th, in my opinion. Not so much in league position, which is fine (even 6th would be).

I do think this season was a missed opportunity to finish 4th BUT we must have played 20 more games than United, so mitigating circumstances there. I also believe we are in better shape than Liverpool going in to next season, even if we finish 6th.

As for Sunday too many variables to call it; which Everton will turn up? Which Spurs will turn up? The final score could be anything, either way, so I'll sit on fence and say 0-0.

Why in your opinion would it be a fuck up if we finish 5th?

Whether it's a fuck up or not doesn't rest on the final game. I don't get the notion that it will be a bad season if we finish 7th but not if we finish 5th when just one result on the last day of the season decides between the two positions.

I'm not saying it is or isn't a fuck up of a season, I'm just asking why you think it is.

I'm not saying I agree with what I proposed.

We win in the city of Liverpool and the bindippers dropping points will enure Europa League proper and doing it there will really rub it it.

Everton have been far from impressive recently, and despite last season, we're masters at finishing 5th remember?

Where we finish is irrelevant. 5th, 6th or 7th we all know there are areas that could and should be improved, and we have to strive for greater consistency.

Whatever league finish we have, plenty of fans refuse to accept the idea that this season was always going to be one for rebuilding and resettling, and thank fuck it seems that Levy actually sees it this way, as well.

I'm fully expecting Kane to limp off late on with an injury that rules him out of the club/country end of season jamboree's... :sneaky:
