nearly cost us in the end with sloppiness

Harsh. Who didn't at some point to be honest towards the end there. Most of the back four had a moment (such as two of them running into each other), as did Dier for another example who went missing for the last 15 minutes, and then gave an awful pass right at the end when last man in midfield, whilst then charging past the play taking himself out of the game and leaving us wide open for a counter attack.

Sky just said he made the most passes on the pitch

There we go again, scapegoating a player regardless of how they played, Lamela used to get it and now it's Carroll - Fucking ridiculous.
who cares !!! He turned backwards to pass backwards 9 out of ten times he got it.

When he was forced into a forward pass he give it away without prejudice.

Its not the level for our club. We are better than that.

Be fearess.

Was really surprised before the match why Son didn't start, but if hes been like this in training I completely understand why. Still I don't know how Carrol played the whole match, I would much prefer to see Nabil get minutes as he has a higher celling.

But, like Eriksen, Bentaleb's poor performances are absolutely woeful. Carroll's had a few up-and-down matches, but I don't think he's been awful.
If we can keep this squad together for the next seasons (replacing the non-performers of course) the experience gain will help players raise their consistency level, even on bad days. The dream of us finally fulfilling our potential has never been more realistic than now.

We ought to give a bit of credit to Martinez for sorting out Everton's performance at half time. They started to press and they stopped giving the ball away. They also defended throughout with great solidity, except for when Alli got the wrong side of them.

That said, the key moments in this match were the times we hit the woodwork. If we had gone in at half time ahead, especially if it were 3-1, the second half would have been pursued differently and a lot of the problems either would not have materialised or would not have mattered, because our formation, substitutions and priorities would have been different.

I'm not too upset with an away point against a good side who have been underperforming and were never going to let themselves lose three home matches in a row. It's just unfortunate that we couldn't turn our first half domination into the 3 goals it deserved.

Haha, calm down. Scapegoating? I just said I prefer Bentaleb to be given a chance because I don't think Carroll has an impact on the game. Having made the most passes is a nothing stat and I think you are well aware of that.

Carroll's best game for Spurs today but he's very limited physically. I think he's got the skills to have a good career but I don't think it will be in the PL with us.

Sideways and backwards passes...yeah great achievement, albeit for a player like him it probably means a lot...

Why have people got such hatred for Carroll? He made a mistake at the end that could have cost us (name me one player who hasn't), he played some lovely football in the first half. It's a learning curve, he will grow from this. Maybe it's too soon for first team football just now, probably should play him in cup games like Kane did. But really people, get a grip. He's a Spurs player. And talented. What he doesn't need are idiot fans knocking his confidence. As he gets older, he'll bulk up and be more of a physical presence. But he's a kid. Get off his case.

Disappointed not to win but would have taken a point before the game.

Harry look tired and Carroll nearly cost us a couple of times near the end with sloppy play. Would like to see Bentaleb come in while Dembele is injured.

Why this confidence in Bentaleb? Hes been dodgy the last games he has been playing. While carroll "nearly" cost us problems today, Bentaleb did against Man U, giving the ball to Mata in the build up to their goal.

The logic of some poeple here is that everyone who is unavaliable or isnt picked by Poch would have changed the game.

Carrol is just not good enough for me. He played couple of games and showed nothing special tbh. I will be very disappointed if he starts again next match.

Bringing on Deulofeu gave them a more direct runner and it caused panic at the back.

We thought we signed that in Son but he didn't do it today and the likes of Walker or Lamela never do. All our runs on the ball late in the game were inside and in front of Everton. We needed Son, Chadli, Walker or Lamela to get on the outside and force them to defend deep.

A sign of progress that we are all disappointed to have drawn away to Everton.

First half performance was the best I have seen this season. Second half was more like the Spurs I know and love.
