Thought Caroll was quite good in the first half, but second half was quite poor (along with a few others in the team. He does lose possession a bit too often for me. Dembele was definitely missed today imo.

Overall, disappointing result given the first half performance. But Everton upped their game in the second half, so at least we didn't throw it away.

Sure, but I'd say Everton were the better side in the 2nd half. We didn't dominate the game, that was my point and it remains true since we only dominated the 1st half.
Disagree about Everton. Was even in the second half. The only reason may seem as though they were the better side was because they improved substantially from their first half performance. Should've been 3 points.

The fact people can still defend Carroll after years of proving he is not a top level player highlights the sum of intelligence on football forums.

Its embarrassing.

What exactly do you see?

Any one of 98% of Pl midfielders could have high pass completion if they only passed it backwards. Blinded.

Im out.

He is our player, so we must close our eyes and act like retards apparently, ignoring the truth which is he will never be any better than a championship level player at best...

Anybody accusing carroll of passing backwards clearly didn't know what end we were attacking. Or watching the game back to front.

The guy only ever passes forward, and it came as a surprise in the 80 odd minute that he did pass backwards for once.

The kid had a good game, played extremely well in the first half.

The scapegoating is ridiculous. First it was Dier at CDM. Then it was Lamela. Then it was Walker. And Pochettino and those players have proved you were all wrong and you don't have a clue what you are on about.

It's something most players need games to get used to. Which is why he's getting plenty of minutes.

I think he's right in the mix.
Yeah hopefully he can mature and get with the physical side of the game. Same goes for Eriksen really, both are pretty weak when they get a player in their back. They should take notes from Lamela, he's come along way with regards to his strenght on the ball since he came to England.

One point is okay!!

We played a great first half, should have scored more before the break
Second half was not that great, could have lost at the end!!

Carroll did ok!!

The most backwards/sideways passing. Having said that I think he played quite well up until the last 20 minutes where he looked completely worn out and should have probably been replaced.

Everyone looked worn out tbf. I thought he, Dier, and the back line did well trying to plug holes as quickly as possible after how easily the front four were giving the ball away those last 20 minutes.

Carroll had his best game today in a spurs shirt, great away performance we should have been out of sight in the 1st half. We now have 2 home games in the league where 6 points will be massive for the club.

Come away from this game full of dissapointment :(

Towards the end it felt like we tried our hardest to feck it up leave with a loss ,so many poor touches and panic passes
With the woodwork denying us twice it almost felt like a loss

Onwards and upwards I guess need a good reaction nxt game out now.

Have I blocked all these people slagging of Carroll or what? I see a buch of people outraged by how some here are talking about Carroll but I can't for the life of me find any horrible comments.

Haha, calm down. Scapegoating? I just said I prefer Bentaleb to be given a chance because I don't think Carroll has an impact on the game. Having made the most passes is a nothing stat and I think you are well aware of that.

You want Bentaleb who in the last few times he has played has been poor and cost us goals. Good logic.

Eriksen needs to make a tackle suffered at times with him and Carroll not strong on this

It's embarrassing that people don't agree with your personal opinion?

Why are you even on a forum if you're just going to call the slightest most trivial disagreement an "embarrassment", not everyone is going to agree with you.

I would like to point out that the manager that has us 4th with the joint highest goal difference and the best defense thinks he's a useful player. I'm not saying he's infallible but he clearly isn't stupid, is he?

People whinging because we didn't win. We've just won 3 on the bounce prior to that, and I always felt that this may be a problem fixture as Everton were due a big win. As long as we can keep putting a run of 2 or 3 wins on the spin with draws in between then we will be there.

It was in response to the dude who said he 'did nothing' in the game

People really need to re-watch this match again without any emotion or boas, absolutely incredible some off these comments :ROFLMAO:

Why this confidence in Bentaleb? Hes been dodgy the last games he has been playing. While carroll "nearly" cost us problems today, Bentaleb did against Man U, giving the ball to Mata in the build up to their goal.

The logic of some poeple here is that everyone who is unavaliable or isnt picked by Poch would have changed the game.

I did not say Bentaleb would have changed the game today but don't think Carroll did enough to merit a starting place in the next game. That's why we have a big squad.

Given Bentaleb seems to be next in line as he was on the bench rather than Mason I think he deserves a go. Agreed he has a dodgy performance in him as well.
