The next person to use the words "must win" in any of their posts in this thread is gay.
It's essential that we win this game to finish 4th.

Unless, that is, we win a sufficient number of other games to collect a greater number of points than 16 other EPL teams. In that case, it's not.

I agree with Nicdic, but for me the main reason that referring to this game as '**** ***' is wrong, is that if we go to Goodison and get a result, I want to be able to celebrate it properly knowing that we beat a good team on their own patch, rather than thinking "yeah well we only did what we should have done".

In the same way, I don't want to castigate the players/management like we all seem to do if we don't win. We'll still be 4th.

This is another good opportunity to leap over the goons. The Toffs will try to rough us up a bit.The quicker we get into our passing game the better.
A win today will give us a psychological advantage in our next home game
and the goons will be playing away.

I am more concerned about Man city and L'pool than Arsenal to be honest.

Still a good strong lineup that is. It's going to be tough but I think this squad is ready to start winning games like this. Fingers crossed.

It's not so much a "have to be victorious" if we want top 4 as an "ought to be victorious" if we are as good as we think we are, lose it and clearly we're not.
Everton are good but at the moment are crippled with injuries plus I fancy their win in the week will take the edge off their fight at all costs attitude.

*leachie did you see I avoided saying "must win" ..oh cobblers!

i think the main cause of concern will be set plays and crosses as Fellaini and Cahill are better than most of our side in the air.

It will be a tough game and 1-0 will do, Crouchy will be useful but I get annoyed that we lump it long to him too much.

I think we have enough quality to win and it wouldbe a big bonus as City and Villa won and Liverpool drew.

Looked at Defoe stats he has like 11 PL goals...8 of them in 2 games lol..I bloody knew when he scored those 5 that that would probably be 5 games he wont score for now! Hope he proves me wrong.

With Niko and Lennon playing v thier 5 man midfield I hope we will be rewarded for our attacking mentality

Come on you Spurs!

Am I looking at the wrong league table, or are Everton not 2 points above the drop zone? I really don't understand the lack of confidence on this thead.

Forget the Man U game, that was a joke. Bentley, Bale and Hutton aren't first team players, and 2 out of those 3 were a disgrace. They won't be on the pitch today. Azza was out of position and will be back where he belongs today. Niko'll be back in and terrorising the oppo. Bassong had an uncharacteristically bad game, and will hopefully show it was just a blip today. We're going to destroy them.

COYS!
