One point id like to make about the experience of playing in the Europa league. All those saying we should sacrifice it are blind.
We all want to reach the champions league? Yes.
Do we have to play midweek games in the champions league on top of weekend premier league games? Yes.
We all want to take the champions league seriously when we get there? Yes.
So why not get the squad/team into the habit of performing for every single game, the habit of playing epl and ucl games back to back, learn the art of good rotation, and the habit of winning every single game?
We are all here for the long haul not a short
Fix... See the bigger picture and play the long game for success...
I agree. I can understand fatigue is an issue if the team play Thursday night in Russia or Greece for example and have to do quite a bit of travelling.
However, playing Wednesday and Saturday is common for the Champs League teams so its an easy excuse to just say we are tired.
These late goals we are conceding are all about giving away possession too easily and inviting pressure. I appreciate teams like Everton get in your face and make it difficult but we also have a habit of being sloppy and giving the ball away for no reason.
