One point id like to make about the experience of playing in the Europa league. All those saying we should sacrifice it are blind.
We all want to reach the champions league? Yes.
Do we have to play midweek games in the champions league on top of weekend premier league games? Yes.
We all want to take the champions league seriously when we get there? Yes.
So why not get the squad/team into the habit of performing for every single game, the habit of playing epl and ucl games back to back, learn the art of good rotation, and the habit of winning every single game?
We are all here for the long haul not a short
Fix... See the bigger picture and play the long game for success...

I agree. I can understand fatigue is an issue if the team play Thursday night in Russia or Greece for example and have to do quite a bit of travelling.

However, playing Wednesday and Saturday is common for the Champs League teams so its an easy excuse to just say we are tired.
These late goals we are conceding are all about giving away possession too easily and inviting pressure. I appreciate teams like Everton get in your face and make it difficult but we also have a habit of being sloppy and giving the ball away for no reason.

Hmmm...technically we should have already learnt from the numerous times it has happened already.

You can be more positive if you wish Steve, but you also have to let people have their rant, what happened yesterday isn't a one off is it?

That was just being realistic. There is little point in crying over spilt milk. I was bloody fuming when the 'milk hit the fan' dont you worry - but that is just reacting to the event, it serves little purpose when one has time for serious reflection.

The strange thing is that last year we had the 5th best defensive record, the year before 8th, and the year before 5th. So where does the "leak goals at an alarming rate" argument lie?

I seem to recall us (under Jol, Ramos & Redknapp) for certain seasons having a pretty dire goals against record. Yes there will have been the odd season it wasn't so bad and your stats paint a certain picture. But there's no denying the fact we rarely keep clean sheets over the past x amount of years. Likewise we do concede late goals and we have always had this soft underbelly tag for as long as I can remember as a supporter.

Ultimately I stick by my sentiments. A loss against Everton after a fairly decent run isn't enough to derail my faith. However I do and have personally felt for a long ling time that the CB positions and lack of stability has never really helped us in past seasons.

For many years we've generally had a poor work ethic at this club and it seems to be ingrained here somehow. It's improving slowly with players like Parker, Sandro, Verts, dembele coming in and rubbing off on everyone, and Dempsey also has a very good work ethic. If we had the desire and mental intention that manure has we'd be such a damn good club.

Irt rotation - we can't rotate truly effectively until we have proper quality throughout the squad.

I've just seen the result and I'm not surprised, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory has been our speciality down the years under countless managers. It is going to take AVB more than a quarter of the season to fix that. We are on the same points as Everton and Arsenal and 3 points behind Chelsea.

I'll take that for now, it's where you finish that matters.

Oh yeah, old player scoring against us is classic too. He was never given a chance with us and people wrote him off as crap.
