Goalkeepers:

Huerelho Gomes - Watford
Paul Robinson - Burnley

Defenders:

Adam Smith - Bournmouth
Kyle Naughton - Swansea
Younes Kaboul - Watford
Michael Dawson - Hull
Zeki Fryers - Crystal Palace
Charlie Daniels - Bournmouth

Wayne Routledge - Swansea
Dean Marney - Burnley
Etienne Capoue - Watford
Michael Carrick - Man Utd
Tom Huddlestone - Hull
Kevin Stewart - Liverpool
Jake Livermore - Hull
Gylfi Sigurdsson - Swansea
Steven Pienaar - Sunderland
Andros Townsend - Crystal Palace
Michael Kightly - Burnley

Strikers:

Jermain Defoe - Sunderland
Peter Crouch - Stoke

It's noteable that 8 of those came through our youth system (7 if you consider that Kightly was discarded as a schoolboy at 16) and a further 7 as young English talents who had yet to make a real top flight impact. Also, only Carrick left us by choice, the rest just became obsolete at we improved, still good enough for this league, just not for Spurs. That goes to show quite how much we've improved as a club since being a mid table side packed with mediocrities and the odd flair player to justify the ticket prices.

Only really Robinson (old back up) and Fryers (just not particularly good) are unlikely to play regularly. The rest are still important within their squads and will have some impact this season.

Had no idea that Paul Robinson was playing for Burnley!

I would argue that Sig and Lennon are still good enough for our squad, even if they wouldn't make the first 11.

Still got a soft spot for Robbo

Would love if he could play against us

Me too!

Everyone have a crack from 30 yards lads, low and hard.
No no, it was Gomes that fluffed those. With Robinson you need to lob him, same as Martyn and Seaman. Must be a Yorkshireman thing..

Jokes aside, will always love Robbo. Probably the best/ most mutual fan-player rekstionship since Ginola left.

must be worth a punt of lamela scoring from 30 yards in the game against Burnley!

Nah mate Robbo was so bad with shots from distance. Always took a step the wrong direction before diving. Lost count of the number of times- one season we must have conceded more shots from outside the box than in!

Agree towards the end up of his time with us almost any shot from outside the box was a nailed on goal. Used to drive me mental.

Burnley were staying in the same hotel as me in Accrington this week, I was hoping to be able to see Robbo when I realised he had been named on the bench and part of the squad for Wednesdays game. Wasn't part of the contingent who were in the bar or down for breakfast Thursday morning though

Chadli and Mason added to the list, both now at clubs where they are likely to be first choice.
