Expectations for 2013/14??

Yes yes I know it all depends on what we and the other clubs do in this window etc but what do you realistically expect from THFC this season??

For me I am very optimistic. Managerial changes at all the top clubs brings uncertainty and we still have AVB!! In my opinion a top top coach.

Given a few decent signings I'd expect a cup and a top four spot at least.

I have a good feeling about next year. And I haven't looked forward to a new season like this for a long time.

What do you good people think??

gonna be very tight again, and atm I'd say its between us and the Arse, but tbh it all depends on who we bring in and if they perform. Its gonna be a bumpy ride, but I'm hopeful if we get a striker, paulinho and a creative mid/winger, then we should do well. Want the Europa League this time around as well, not a bad tournament and would increase our reputation in Europe....

I think if we use what we have (player wise) in the right circumstances ie. Carrol, Kane, Loungo in Europa and cup matches and keep our strongest tried and true side for the EPL or the later stages of the cups, cant see why we couldn't really shake some feathers this season.

I predict FA cup winner's, 3rd in the prem and late stages of the Europa losing to a German side.

Bale to score 25 and 15 assists and to strike up a berba-keane esque partnership with our new sparkly striker.

Ps. Villa to score hatrick in north london derby on debut hehe.

I would like to see us fighting for that first spot, but to be realistic would I be (VERY) happy with a CL spot. I think it`s vital to reach Cl this year to not fall back into a 5-8 club again. To be able to keep all the key players, Bale, Lloris, Jan And so on is that our main goal and just focus to get that CL spot. COYS

I would like us to finish comfortably in the top 4, mabye even 3rd and to win a trophy, perhaps the FA CUP-bring back the 'glory glory' days please Andre.

BUT I expect us to just miss out on the top 4 again to probably either Chelsea or Arsenal due to some obscure reason or slice of back luck, heck next season we may even get 80 points and probably still come 5th and get knocked out of the cup competitions on penalties as we always seem to and the I expect one of our best players to be heavily linked with a move away next season assuming Bale may leave it will probably be Lloris or SuperJan and as we'll have come 5th again we will probably have to sell.

So there you have it, my heart says finally a successful fairly stress free exciting season, my head says we end up fucking it all up as usual.

Last season it was us, so this season other than Arsenal, the other teams that finished ahead of us all have new managers. AVB has had a year on them (And did damn well to get us 72 points) so we should now take advantage of "them settling in" and accumulate enough points to finish the season comfortably in top four and probably a cup.

5th as it stands, might be in with a shout of a cup. With Villa and Paulinho we'll put up a real fight for 4th. More signings and we could possibly achieve 4th relatively comfortably. I can't see us finishing higher than that really, it's very difficult to say though because it very much depends on injuries etc and it's hard to tell how the new managers will fit in. I do fancy Liverpool to have an excellent season though, we really have got our work cut out if we want that CL spot, even with some top signings.

Title challenge, anything less is failure imo and it all comes down to one thing. Madrid say they are ready to submit a world record bid for Bale and a lot people think of him as the third best player in the world, well now we have to prove he is in a team, worthy of such a player. No more excuses imo, time for action if Bale played for any of the top 3 then each one would be favourites and if Arsenal had a player like bale and weren't near the rest and fighting with us, Wenger would be sacked.

Of course we need to strengthen key areas but a title challenge is the minimum requirement and we cant say we are in transition either now, and the top 3 all have new managers that seem to be going a different way to the last guy

Being realistic I think we have to now qualify for the Champions League (we actually need to get into it and not just finish in the top 4 and then not get the spot because someone outside the top 4 won the tournament).
