Disagree, I would prefer he spends as little as necessary for us to win.

Do we really want to be another spending club, that just buys the tin with superstar names? I've never seen Spurs as that type of club, and I hope I never do. Yes, bring in top players but while it frustrates a lot of fans when we don't get this one or that over the line, Levy has rarely had us bent over and spanked for deals.

Yes, we've seen one or two - N'dombele being the most recent big spend that's bitten us on the arse, but hindsight is a wonderful thing - but that should demonstrate why it's critical for a club not backed by a bottomless pit of money to be more astute when putting cash down on big players, on big wages. That's where we look at Munn and see what he can do, to get us the best deals for the players Ange needs, so when the time comes that there is a huge opportunity to bring in someone actually worth the dough, it's there.

As little as necessary until the time comes, thank you very much.
This. It honestly beggars belief that amount of focus that goes on our spending (especially when we have recently spent a metric fuckton), when our history of spending big money well is beyond awful in that...we've never signed a player for relative big money and them be anything more than a millstone around our neck, while our most cherished and valuable players were signed for sensible fees, a pittance, or for nothing at all. There's a lesson there.

We just need to be signing the right players, for the right manager. And we've certainly been signing the right kind of players for the past 18 months, and now seem to have the right kind of manager.

I still have to check to make sure we really did pick up van der Vaart for £8m.

Eight Million!

In 2002, Newcastle paid £6m for Titus Bramble! :D

Levy makes it sound like he got caught up trying to win trophies so he appointed win now managers but sacking one days before a cup final and replacing him with a novice exposes that tissue of lies.

I don't know why Levy sacked Mourinho before the Cup Final.

But, I do believe that the decisions to hire Mourinho and Conte were rooted in a desire to "win now" with a specific group of players, and specifically Kane.

I think both hires were short-sighted, and ultimately very poor decisions that did not reflect the reality of the squad at hand - bar Kane.

Levy misread the talent on the team, and overestimated that squad's ability to win - but, I do think the hires were specifically made at each time with a "win now" mentality.

So no questions of actual substance then to Levy? Would love to know his thought process behind sacking a serial cup winner 4 days before a cup final(no matter how funny that was at the time it was still dumb). Would love to know where the extra £50m is from ENIC(id assume Joe’s legal fund). And lastly, who exactly is the controlling party of our owner, ENIC. Like who is pulling the strings(i cant imagine its that estate lawyer) & they’ve told the league that Joe is no longer involved, which with no answers to this, seems like a lie.

None of your questions are "questions of substance", they are just irrelevant or ancient history.

Lol how do you know this? You just don't agree with his approach.

The approach all fans want is for him to spend as much as necessary for us to win. Levy has said from day one that the club will be run sustainably, and that is where the issue is, because fans think he is just tight, when it's really him just believing in his own approach to success.

Sacking one of the most successful managers ever, a week before a cup final suggests winning is not at the forefront of his ambitions.

Nothing to do with him being tight, it's the way we approach the competitions we enter. There is no real desire to win any competitions and managers are generally judged on getting CL football (or European football at least). If we win one, then great but Levy only takes getting to the Top 4 seriously which shows what he really cares about.

“This a club that should be winning every competition, not just cups

So we are prioritising the league over cup competitions basically.

I wouldn't be surprised if the managers were getting heavy bonuses for qualifying for CL and next to fuck all for winning a domestic trophy. I've tried to stay off Levy's back of late because barring failing to get a CB he's done pretty well, but there is no doubt in my mind he's made it clear to managers, it's to focus on getting into the CL at any cost.

I also think them "taking a look into ticket pricing" is too late, and the damage is done both to the supporters pockets and to the clubs reputation. They had a chance to roll it back when the trust and countless supporter groups kicked off and they didn't even consider it. It was pointless(in the grand scheme of things) greed, and completely unnecessary to hike ticket prices by 20% just to make a few extra quid(again in the grand scheme of things).

I’m convinced some of you lot want to live in abject misery

We’re healing. We have a loveable, good, young team playing great football and winning. With an equally loveable Manager who is doing and saying all the right things and you still can’t get a semblance of enjoyment from it.

Levy has been rightfully criticised for not being visible enough. He’s done 2 events within a week of each other and from what I’ve seen given reasonable answers to questions (in the sense of what someone in his position can and will say). I don’t need him to come out and say “I’m fucking useless” what do we, he or the club stand to gain from that? None of you would be happy with that anyway.

Those of you wanting a gallery shoot at a club organised fan forum. What did you expect? You wouldn’t be happy unless he’s marched naked down the high road whilst you stand and shout “Shame” at the bloke.

I’ve not been on here for a few weeks and have been feeling more positive than I have in years about Spurs. Then I look in this thread and it’s actually surprised me. It’s depressing. Why do you do it to yourselves?

The priority for every PL owner and manager is to qualify for the world's most elite club competition the Champions League by finishing top four and to gain all the financial riches it provides , the next priority for owners and managers is not to get relegated from the gravy train that is the Premier League , can't believe that some haven't grasped that, it's the reality of football today.

Edit Now top five I believe.

How do you figure that?

If someone believes we should be winning every competition, wouldn't that imply that all competitions are approached with the same effort?

Was the league cup approached with the same effort as the league?
