It’s difficult to make this make any sense. If you really want to progress, put the first team out and actually go for it. If you’re not bothered, give those who never play a chance. We’ve gone in between and ended up doing nothing more than expending unnecessary energy and embarrassing ourselves. Personally, I couldn’t care less about going out of this cup, when you consider how stupidly busy the schedule is but it’s the way we’ve gone about it there

Conte once again gets knocked out of a cup. That just means we can concentrate on winning the league ??????

Looking forward to the Conte-backers trying to put a positive spin on this one.
I’m not convinced that Conte will turn this around but I’m backing him until the end of the season. He’s earned that because of what he achieved last season. We need a massive fucking improvement and soon though or he’s in danger of having another of his trademark all-too-brief club spells.

So far this season has been another shocking indictment of our recruitment department.

Not one of our summer signings seems to have improved us in any measurable manner. In fact we seem to have gone noticeably backwards since the end of last season.

He has won everywhere he has been. We don't have any quality attacking players. Forest were able to sign 21 players, we didn't even 6. The 21 players they signed are all premier League quality and can improve our team and better than what we have.

Just the usual pattern of responses from the backers.

Good performances from the lads. Really worked hard. Conte's selection and tactics were just the ticket. It was just the ref and the fact that we had to face the superior Nottingham Forest B-team at such an early stage in the cup when our players are distracted by the Qatari Sportswashing Cup. We have to trust the process. Perhaps in another 2 or 3 windows, Conte will have the squad to compete against Forest's 10-man reserves.

What an utterly disgraceful performance, spearheaded by Don Conte. The only bright spot was the cameo from Djed Spence. And still ... Emerson starts against Leeds, right? Jeeeeez!

I know we look awful but I still can't help but think a couple of key signings will transform us. No one can deny we're still 3-4 players short.

Absolutely disgusting performance. Utterly offensive.
Side note - I’m so sick of Refs not adding on any time regardless of the literal minutes of stoppage in play. He blew a few seconds before the 5th when, with all that was going on, there was easily another few mins that should have been played
I go nuts at this every game! They blow like bang on or ten seconds before. Ppl pay to see a full game. Players wouldn’t time waste as much is refs did their actual job properly. I’ve always thought they need to have a rugby style clock in the ground and at home. You’d see how it really went down then!

I didn't expect us to win (I said in a previous post which has disappeared probably because I questioned why the game's not on TV ) - but that's a very strong lineup. So if we don't win now I'll be pretty disappointed.
As I posted before the game I expected to get beaten assuming we would play a second string.

And that would be fine.

but we didn't play a second string. We rotated in just enough of our not so good players that we were vulnerable in defence like we always are (when Emerson doesn't start (y) )

And we got beat bad. I've got no idea what we were trying to achieve. If we have to win start Bentancur and Kulu. If we don't "have" to win then start Spence, Sarr and Gil.

Worst night of the season. Including the Arsenal and United games.

Frankly the 2-0 flattered us quite a bit.
Agreed. Forster kept the score respectable. Playing with Dier, Sanchez and Sessegnon doesn't really help but fucking hell we never looked like competing.

Also, I am not sure on Skipp, Bissouma and Holjberg as a 3. Bissouma is told to be the base - Skipp has come back from a long injury but I thought that was his best role.

Feels like a real chance gone there.

After watching that, your take is Forest are a shitty club?
As in dirty cheats. The whole of Injury time was spent with one player on the floor, and the ref didn’t even add it on. Ridiculously inconsistent.
