He’s a good manager, what he did at wolves was brilliant. Unfortunately he was the wrong manager at the wrong time for us.

He was fantastic at Wolves. No Premier League side enjoyed playing them.

I tried to convince myself it may work when we appointed him but I was definitely more worried when it was reported that he was going to try and play a 4-3-3 and play more expansive football. Only reason he appealed to me in any way was with the thought that he may play that same 3 at the back formation seen at Wolves but to adopt it with better players at his disposal.

His last year at wolves was the most putrid football I’ve ever seen. They were unwatchable. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing when I heard he got the Spurs job. Completely devoid of ideas

I agree. He went against his preferred formation to try to ingratiate himself but it didn't work and the amount of games we had zero shots on target in was outrageous. The Wolves I used to watch was dynamic- they had their wing backs up and down the flanks with dangerous forwards getting on the end of crosses. We got none of that from him.

Was always completely wrong appointment for us, but did good job at Wolves. Doesn't neccesarily mean he is fit for Nottingham or todays PL.

I think it is wonderful how these Managers go from job to job, earning millions on the way, despite being sacked from so many.

Agree. Although I can see the logic of Forest going for him seeing he is a specialist wing-back manager and that is how they have built their squad.

Vital context being that his best attacking player broke his skull in front of the whole team, and the club clearly never recovered from that.

Nuno did great at Wolves. Was clearly burnt out and shouldn't have taken the Spurs job, but it was too tempting. Better than what he delivered here and how we rightfully feel about him.

He was using 4atb in every previous club except Wolves

You could say he was quite fortunate at Wolves in that George Mendes was virtually running the transfer side of the club when they were in the championship. He ended up with the likes of Neves and Mourinho who were international class. No wonder he got them up. Was handed various Portuguese international players in future years. They did well but were bloody awful to watch.
we were running out of options when we offered him the job.

He's coming it at the worst time as well, as Forest will have 7 players unavailable due to AFCON in Jan/Feb.

There are so many poor managers who seem to stay in the game for way longer than their success rate should allow.

Think this appointment for Nuno will show whether he's in that bracket or not.

I suspect he will be.
