We have problems in both a 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 with rotating the squad. You can play Skipp, N'dombele and Lo Celso in three but can only rotate the CDM with a good option. You can play 4-2-3-1 but Skipp and PEH are the only good options for the pivot, perhaps Lo Celso but you then have to change not only your CM but also your CAM and increase the disruption to the side.

Considering the lack of form from N'dombele the 4-2-3-1 is the way to go for now but once Skipp or PEH need resting I'm a lot less confident in it.
He should bring through Harvey White for that position, rotate him in for the Euro Conference games.

Yesterday was an improvement but I think the evidence is always over a run of games. It was much better football and more chances created. I think Nuno needs to just pick the best 11 and that includes Romero, Emerson and Ndombele/GLC... i think one or the other

Lets see how we play over the next few games.

One thing is for sure though,, these fucking international breaks are a fucking nonsense... such a stop start stop start stop start to the season... that requires revision and change. Doesnt help nor allow for any momentum

Yes, we haven't much alternatives on the midfield. We really need to exchange our third rightback (doherty) and third leftback (sessegnon) for a CM and a goalscorer.

Well this could be a major problem, if we start heavily rotating. Nothing against Harvey White BTW.
The ECL is the most useful and I think most prestigious of the three trophies we can realistically win.
If we bow out of the ECL and league cup this winter, we are facing another trophyless season in order to achieve what? Sixth or 7th, and another shot at the ECL or EL at best

There is certainly some prick feeding the Athletic a stream of negative information. Thing is Journo's don't even bother fact checking now before going to print.
who do we know that has previous for doing that

I think Romero could cover for skipp/hojbjerg - he seems to like to venture forward and I suspect when he played in a back 5, he brought the ball out.

We are already well resourced for RCBs, so it could make better use of our squad. OK, it is a little unfair not to let him just settle down in defence, but he's going to be in and out anyway due this international fiasco.

It is a fact that Ornstein is an Arsenal fan. What’s the problem, good thinking by Daniel. Why pay someone a bucket of money for being crap. People in football need to live in the real world.
I have no doubt it will be true.
It’s a great opportunity for Nuno to show how good he is.

You'd think, wouldn't you?

Instead, a couple of shit performances lead many on here to declare their hatred for him.

Not dislike. Not impatience. Not exasperation.

Hatred.

Tells you quite a lot about the mentality of some of the people on here.

Edit: They're currently identifying themselves by neg repping this post. Excellent.
It's not just on here it's football fans in general unfortunately. Something you don't find in any other sport.

Considering Villa have in recent games drew with Chelsea (losing on penalties) beat Everton 3=0 beating Man until 1-0 then Sundays result and performance was creditable . Being at the match the players seemed to be playing for Nuno and therefore the club and there was a few moments of real quality which makes me hopeful if not expectant for the future.

I think we know who that is!? It’s been quite obvious.

He's at Portsmouth.

(unless I'm tripping. But I'm sure he went there on loan)

EDIT: OK I just looked and he isn't, he's with our U23s. As you were :ninja:

Absolute rubbish - there's plenty of hatred directed at players and coaches in other sports. In some cases, even physical violence.

I'm talking about this country and our sports not American sports where they have always had violence. Look at our other sports and you wont find the level of hatred for players and teams like you do for football in this country. So I think what you say is rubbish by defending the mindless idiots that use social media to attack and spill out hatred just because their team got beat or an apposing player scored a great goal against them. Fortunately it's a minority but it's growing because it's so easy to do.

Orstein may be an Arsenal guy but he definitely has very good sources in the industry & the club. Im pretty sure he was the first on Reguilon & Bale.

Personally I think that's very concerning. Nothing good about the club got leaked so many times now. Was there no memo sent down to all staffs and players with regards to confidential information or any non-disclosure practice?

I hate Ornstein for some reason I understand why now.
