Let's say Bale being sold and Sigurdsson benched which is both very possible. Who from the current squad would/could take free kicks?

Townsend has a decent one on him if he stays and gets games. Walker has taken a few and scored a nice one. Chadli can take them too. Kaboul could take them, for novelty value.

Good question actually. I really don't know, I mean, with no Bale or Sigurdsson you'd have to say it will be Walker and Vetonghen standing around the ball to have a pop I would have thought. There certainly seems to be no sort of specialist in the starting 11 without Sig or Bale.

Actually Chadli did score one against us but I don't know if he was a consistent free kick taker for Twente?

Moussa too, that shot against Lyon shows he has power and accuracy

If all goes really well and we sign Eriksen and Lamela then we'll have that sorted. Out of the current squad though our best left footer for free kicks (bar Bale) is Vertonghen and the most likely right footer would probably be Chadli. Neither are outstanding but have scored decent free kicks before.

For me this makes up for missing out on Sneijder all those years ago when we were linked with him. This guy looks like he has an something that not many 21 year olds have, can't wait to see what he can do!
