Think Defoe starting against Fulham is good.. Slow defence who do not like playing against small quick players. If we dominate possession then Defoe on the shoulder should be a good choice.

Hopefully Lennon, Paulinho and Lamela are interchangeable and are allowed freedom to roam.

Agree. But I am willing to give Lamela another chance at left wing. Soldado's confidence will be at 0 after getting benched now. But it's his fault.

Love seeing Capoue in starting 11. Should be an easy win, but we are Spurs.

Sandro/Capoue/Paulinho does not work in a 4-3-3 so guess that 4-2-3-1 with Paulinho playing no.10. Would much rather have someone more creative like Holtby there if we have such a solid DM pairing behind. Lamela on the left is another fucking waste, hope he gets to play on the right but then Lennon usually struggles on the left so it's no win either way. Would have been a great game for Soldado to get some goalscoring confidence but no, let's keep Defoe happy

But I think we should trust the manager's judgment. He wants a win
(I think Fulham's plan is to defend Soldado, they would be quite headache to change their plan now, defoe is much quicker than Soldado )
I think it is a tactical reason, AVB benches Lamela few days ago and starts him today

I think its a good selection personally. Just would of had Soldado in for Defoe.

More likely fitness worries i.e. keeping players fresh. I'd rather have Soldado at Sunderland than Defoe. Theres no way he was going to play all 3 games this week.
