Zinedine Zidane: “We have not given up on Gareth Bale – it is impossible to give up a player of that quality.
Zinedine Zidane: “Of course Tottenham are doing the right thing by trying to get him to sign a new contract.
Zinedine Zidane: “We have made it clear he is a target, but Real Madrid have a very good relationship with Tottenham so we would make sure any approach is done in the correct way.
Zinedine Zidane: “It is ideal to get any new players in as early as possible so they can integrate with the team – but it is not always possible and the best players are worth waiting for.” Daily Mirror
What a joke of a club they are!!!!
I wouldn't want Di Maria anywhere near Spurs.
Anyone under the impression we've been doing all our business early knowing this deal for Bale would be done so clubs wouldn't take the piss in their demands?
Mate thinks this is the case, wondered if anyone else does.
I'm taking the more optimistic stance that we're giving it a real go for once, forget top 4; we're looking at the title.
Its possible, but unlikely.
I said last night that uncle Joe opening the wallet to the tune of 50 million could of just been deliberate misinformation (not the ITK's fault to be clear).....ie there is no 50 million, and we are spending some of the Bale money now before a deal is concluded/announced.
You wouldn't go shopping after receiving 80 million plus etc..
Doubt it though. Madrid wouldn't of gone as far as they have with their dirty tactics if this were the case I reckon.
Hope we're right on this. I think we all had it in our minds we had one more season, what started as just paper talk has somehow snowballed; not sure whether to still dismiss it or not
I just think of Levy, and then I'm calm lol
Seriously, Bale is a cash cow...there is no way he's going for anything less than obscene money whilst Levy has anything to do with it!!!
This team has a serious chance of competing for the title if Soldado is brought in and Bale stays. Selling Bale just opens up another hole to be filled. If we are serious about him going, then Madrid must give us Coentrao and Di Maria as part of the deal alongside an obscene amount of cash (in reality, at least 80 million pounds), and the deal must be contingent on us signing Lamela first. If, and only if, we were able to sell Bale and bring in Coentrao, Lamela, and Di Maria (plus have enough cash to off-set our spending on Soldado, Chadli, and Paulinho) would I be only marginally dissatisfied. Even then, I'd much rather Bale stay than those three arrive. He's that good and important to us.
