I think AVB is angry, not with Bale but with RM. I think he has been told to keep quiet as Levy is planning on taking action. Hence the 150 million quote from the club. Levy is taking the piss now, just as much RM and stringing them a merry dance until a complaint is made.

As for the Bale side of things, I think he will deal with Bale appropriately as it is clear the Bale trusts his judgement and respects him. I think AVB is telling him you are making a mistake if you go to RM and keep him level headed and focused on his game.
Levy ain't going to make a complaint against Real, it's beyond pointless. And despite their dirty tricks, he knows financially it doesn't make sense to make an enemy of them. The main part of the working agreement between he clubs is using their marketing arm to open up revenue streams across the world. That's a key motivator for Levy.

How is Walcott not a match winner?

Bale is the far superior player, but quite frankly, anyone who scores goals qualifies as a match winner, and that's something Walcott does. He's definitely a better player than Aaron Lennon.

Yeah well whatever, no teams are looking to prize Wallnut away from the Goons which also reflects in comparative values. No big teams tapping him up in fact not even a manager anywhere praising him - not even a little bit.

Has anyone considered how big a sign of ambition it is for Tottenham (who everyone says always sell in the end) to turn down a world record bid?

Was just listening to the Press Pass on Talkshite and they all think its nailed on that Bale will go as "Bale has outgrown the Lane etc etc ". Anyway they had a so called Spanish Football expert (not Graham Hunter) saying Marca have got quotes and Bales agent was spotted with Madrid officials. "You cannot ignore this kind of information! It's going to happen" he wailed. Real have money to buy anyone was the jist. Shows that so called experts don't have a clue.

Could be that RM lies, stories and overall general ****iness and the constant barrage of media speculation is getting to them.

First hand accounts.

I was in HK so were a huge contingent of fellow Singapore yids who were involved in one way or another.

We will never know the underlying reasons and motivations of his behaviour, but it seems like he didn't want to be there or involve himself.

Not sure if AVB's mood is linked to this though.

Maybe they both were pissed off by initial levy reluctance to pay up for Soldado? Here's hoping.

But he cannot sit back and do nothing.

He will be the laughing stock of the footballing world.

What he can do, is insist Bale stays for one more season, and then bleed RM dry.

I'd love it if we do....the message it would send out would be glorious lol

I guess most would say we would be mad, certainly all outsiders would...but then they aren't considering a plethora of reasons, specifically where we are as a Club now and the plans we have, as to why it would/could make sense to turn it down.

To me it would be or less saying...'we are here to dine at the top table now' :)

Beginning of a new a era etc...

If Pleat says there hasn't been an offer how can Bale be distraught that we have turned it down?
RM are such big shit stirrers

Well, the suggestion is Bale's agent, after talks with Real, is briefing the press. The implication being Bale quite fancies a move, Real know they can't afford it (hence no bid) and would rather agitate to get a deal

Or that Bale's agent is briefing the press to make the most of attention to get best deal for Bale

Or not. I dunno

In our favour is that Bale has a lot of friends at the club. Hopefully they can keep his spirits up.

It was Terry Gibson, Former spurs player and yeah I was laughing at him in the car, Just another sensationalist load of crap that had no substance! Ex-footballers who know nothing about our club should shut the **** up and crawl back to their oap villas and enjoy their talkshite pay check. Makes you wonder what inspires them to call themselves experts when they spout crap like that!!

If the unthinkable happens and Bale does go then i think we should have it into the deal that it can't be announced until we have bought our replacements. If we let Bale go the clubs we try to deal with will only inflate the price of players because we'd have all the Bale money and they would fancy a huge chunk of it. Not that I think or hope he is going anywhere.

Was just thinking if Bale signs for Madrid, I would definitely pay to be a fly on the wall for first meeting with Bale and Ronaldo. I'd imagine it would be awkward as Ronaldo must know he's just copied him on loads of things.

And all it requires is one word from Levy.

No.

All he can do is try and get the best outcome he can with the cards he's been dealt. Has a club ever really been done for tapping up? Chelsea got a pitiful rap on the knuckles for Kakuka, Real have powerful friends all over European football, it ain't going to happen..

Levy needs to stick to his guns here. Twice Real Madrid have done us over. £150m or no deal. Also report the m0ther f@ckers for tapping up.
