Levy's response should Gareth ask to leave (I don't think he will) will be 'next year Gareth, they aren't going anywher. You'll be more sought after once you've led us to the title!'.

Or just tell him: "Just give us another year. See what we accomplish. If you're happy with the players we bring in and the direction the club is going, you can make the decision to either stay or go and we will fully support whatever you decide."

What if they had that conversation last summer?

Its amazing how much faith some people have in levy, he sold Carrick, berbatov and ratboy but will not sell bale?
Carrick went for 16m berba for 30m and ratboy for 33m, somehow I doubt he will turn down 85m for one player.
No doubt we will get another chairman's message on the website blaming the player, but at least it has strengthened our relationship with Madrid, oh and they have loaned us the Spanish Frazier Campbell.
I hope I am wrong but levy is a businessman first and foremost.

Money talks...and also keeping an unhappy bale is not really an option

Yes, Levy is a businessman but he also wants the best for our club. He did hold on to Luka one extra year, and turned down £40m from Chelsea. Like Luka, Berba forced a move. What could Daniel do? Have a £60k striker unhappy and who didn't really want to be at the club? So he sold him for £30m, isn't that a United transfer record? We can't keep out best players forever, we haven't that status yet. Football is nowadays much about business and i'm happy that Levy runs the club like he does, in a fair and correct way. I think he's the man who should have most of the credit for taking the club til where it is today.

I don't think he will sell Gaz this year, and I don't think Real will offer more than £65m. I don't think Gaz will ask to leave the club either.

Yeah levy has done a great job and runs the club superbly well, I mean those late moves on deadline day never fail, moutinho and leandro just two shining examples of running the club well.
Of course levy lovers will blame those horrible agents that other clubs don't have to deal with, please don't tell me his brinksmanship has not hurt us, a quality striker signed in January would have seen us in the top 4

Higuain, Contreao and 50 million cash would be lovely. But I doubt they would offer that much cash along with those two players.

50 million plus those two? Not a chance. They're more likely to offer 5 million plus those 2 from the recent valuations of Higuain they've been claiming.

Still wouldn't take it. Bale is too important to the future of this club, even if he is only here for one more season. He is one of the best in the world and is only going to get better and his presence hugely raises the profile of our club.
