I am starting to get really frustrated with all the Bale talk. The longer it drags on, if Bale was actually staying then we would know surely?. There would be no reason for the Club / AVB / Bale to not come out and make a statement to the press.

By not doing so it seems more likely that its so that we can arrange replacement players before the big sale and the inflated prices that would follow.

How long can this go on? Its been over a week now. Another month of this...:banghead:

Stobart and Castles talking like it's done.
Castles is very close to AVB so I'm leaning away from yesterday's ITK unfortunately.
Maybe the silence is all about getting the replacements in place before the prices inflate.
Whatever happens we will never be the same again, GB was fantastic but 5 or so top class players to replace the likes of Hudd, Dempsey, BAE and Scotty could lift us up to another level. For me, he will always be a Spurs legend.

They already did at the beginning of the summer. I'm not sure they need to come out every time Marca/Daily Star/Daily Mail publish an article otherwise they'd be doing it on an hourly basis.

Think it's Mourinho he's close to, not AVB.

Levy has said he is not for sale this summer and levy is a very stubborn man

Real Madrid do not have the money to afford him

Massive majority of ITK point to him staying

My opinions of course also

Bale asking to leave and Madrid making offers ranging from £ 40 - £ 120 M is all RM leaked media drivel
You were doing so well then chucked in the itk argument.

They did the same with Berbatov and looked what happened. Plus the player didn't want to leave back then.

It has been going on since he played in the San Siro against Inter, just enjoy the ride as it will go on for another 12 months at least

If hes not on the plane to Monaco then you'd expect that to be it. Injury or not, its a show of solidarity if hes with the team.

Madrid have probably agreed £100 million. We will go away and identify deals, and don't kid yourself about inflated prices. Any left wing will be priced accordingly regardless, but I suspect we want to be able to do our business all together to neuter the PR hit.

The real question (pardon the pun) is when the written offer eventually arrives is is there enough cash to do our deals, and a short enough timeframe for repayment? £100 million in cash is 20 percent of Madrid's turnover, and they will not have that money sitting around. Would we do a deal at 60 or 70 million cash and the rest next year? Probably. I bet that still leaves Madrid needing to raise money though...

Are there any financial experts out there? If the deal was say £100 million over 5 years, what financial guarantees would come with that? Would it be possible to factor the debt with a bank, and if so how much would it cost to do so?

No expert, but I dare say a bank would lend to us against the future income. We would pay them interest, though, which would beg the question why Madrid didn't borrow the money instead of us.

Yeah lots of ifs and buts there - I wonder what the effective cost of some sort of extended payment scheme is - is 105 million over 5 years worth what now... 95 million?

Castles isn't close to AVB at all, that's Jason Burt you are thinking of. Castles never gets much Spurs info right. Stobart and Goal.com are just taking a punt as they often do.

Freund mentioned a training session this morning so won't be hearing about the flight for a while. Hopefully Soldado joining pics today.

Could there be no news coming from the Spurs camp because all this coverage helps raise our profile as a club? There's no such thing as bad publicity and all that.
