I'm not saying what they've reported is true. Just stating that the image used shouldn't be the main to go use in saying it's BS. I've seen several articles online (from different publications) use the same image of Levy, so the image being stock doesn't matter. Only shows the person talked about in the piece.

For all we know, Bale could be in Marbella as we speak. Some ITK have even said their sources have said so.

Its got nothing to do with the players worth, its what he is worth to SPURS, CL money, marketing, etc etc etc over the next 3 years. RM are compensating us by buying out his contract and what DL thinks he is going to loose.

With due respect, I know how transfers work. And again, I think setting a price of 100 million pounds if he actually does want to leave won't work for anyone as, at the end of the day, we will never get anyone to pay that price. Hence the prospect of haggling. If he wants to leave, keeping him around and putting this price tag on him could very well back fire - I've seen it before.

You keep making reference to a players worth.........that is utter sh**e. Its what the asset is worth to the club over the period of the contract. It has been explained no amount of times on here, but you keep missing the point. I have to question how you arrive at your opinion that no players is worth more than 60 million.

Again, I know how they work. And in my opinion, he isn't worth that much. What is so hard to understand about that? I share a perception that many fans of both Spurs and opposition fans share, that anything over 60-70 million pounds is a fantastic deal for him.

It comes from clubs buying players for ridiculous fees, paying them exorbitant wages and then looking grimly at a long financial hard-fall. Despite being arguably the biggest club in the world, Real Madrid are having a lot of issues with owing money and the like. It doesn't help that the global economy is still struggling. I honestly don't think players are worth that much, but that is just me. Again, it is my opinion. However, in the context of the ridiculous fees and wages that are paid, I still don't see Bale worth anywhere near 100 million pounds. If he plays two seasons consecutively at such a high standard, then yes, maybe, as his brand will have expanded exponentially. Otherwise, I don't think he is worth that much. Most football fans I've seen are laughing their heads off that Madrid would even consider paying anywhere near that much. Might be a reason for that, no?

There was a rumour going around about it yes, and I don't believe it came from the media. I saw it here IIRC.

That would be lovely, if highly improbable for multiple reasons. Besides, we need wide players, imo. If we want another CAM we can get Eriksen to go along with Holtby to give us those options when it's required. 4-3-3 means we're light with wide attacking players of the required quality even if Lamela replaces GB.

Could RM do similar with Ljalic for us? Pwetty pwease.

Yeah, I can't move outside any hotel I go to in the world for all the Welsh flags.

I'll wait for official confirmation, but gee, going from ryantegan and a lot of other ITKs, it looks like this is happening today, for better or worse. No matter which way it goes, I will say as an ardent Spurs fan that I have loved every moment (well, perhaps not every last one ) of Gareth's time here, and I wish him all the best in his future - whether it be as a Spurs player or as a RM player. I'm getting a bit teary!
