I've been trying to find out concrete details of when their window shuts. Can I just ask where you saw that it closes on Friday?
Someone in here the other day I think. But whoever said it had a few agree with them too.

Guess it's because in Spain and Italy they play on Sundays so finishing it on Friday makes a little more sense than for us

If the second bidding club was English (and therefore most likely Man Utd) and we accepted their offer, I'd be furious. Wouldn't matter if they offered £200m in cash up front - our days of selling to our domestic rivals have to be over for us to progress as a club, and if Bale went to another Premier League side I'd never forgive Levy.

(Incidentally, I think the mini-rant above is all academic anyway, because firstly there's no indication that a second bidder is an English club in the first place, and secondly I think Bale would refuse any other club's offer other than Real Madrid even if another side came in for him - he looks like his heart is set on the Bernabeu IMO.)

If anyone hasn't already said it then I will.

No one would turn down £200 million in a one off payment. In the long run that would make us a bigger club than Man Utd and the quality we could bring in would keep us going for the next decade.

It wont happen though.

Ok. Originally I thought it was the 31st but I've seen reports saying its the 2nd, the same as here. There seems to be a bit of confusion over it. Now if its being said its Friday, then I don't know what to think!

Now Zidane is saying that he'll mentor Bale when he joins RM, as he knows what it's like to be the worlds most expensive player.

I've lost all the respect I had for Zidane. Used to be one of my favorite players all time, but now I just reckon he can fuck off. Disrespectful little prick.

I agree with that, 100% every word. I used to idolise him too, but I've lost all my respect for him. He may have been one of the world's greatest ever players, but now he's just an arsehole.

Playing alongside his idol Christiano (who cringely probably doesn't want him there) and being mentored by Zidane? I hope Bale stays SO MUCH but you can see the appeal from his point of view...

Also Zidane is a disrespectful prick, but he doesn't give a fuck about Spurs haha. We are so irrelevant in his eyes.

I don't understand why we aren't telling Madrid to do one. Thoroughly unprofessional. Agree about Zidane. "I will mentor him." Yeah, when he's your f**king player, amte, until then, stfu."

THIS STUFF RILES ME! :)

I understand the sentiment...

But, emotion is for fans, unfortunately it has a very low weighting in the board room. Dan levy is a cold hearted business man, he won't be particularly bothered where the money comes from. He'll be thinking, how much interest does that save me over the life of the stadium loan we'll need to take out. That's his job and he's bloody good at it.

IMO Bale will go, we'll collect a ransom, balance the squad, make a profit in this window and Levy will be smiling all the way to the bank.

You might be disappointed Bale leaves but you won't be disappointed where we finish at the end of the year.

New guardian article. Sid Lowe is based in Spain so his sources are probably decent but it could be Madrid putting more pressure on us.

AVB said he expects Bale to be at training tomorrow. What's the point of him flying back for a day then flying to Madrid? Makes no sense to me. If he said goodbye it would've been better to do that before he flew last week as we could just get on with everything and move on. So many conflicting stories right now.

Sort of inevitable(or inevitiibale) that Madrid would haggle at the last moment and we'd invent an offer from another club(or offers). Why would we consider them if we didn't want to sell Bale in the first instance?

Other offers don't matter as this is supposedly the only club Bale is interested in. PSG could come in and offer £120m but Bale won't be interested and Madrid aren't going to base their offer on that - it's not a situation akin to Willian.

Despite may people being upset at Madrid's press antics i feel Levy would rather deal with them than Chelsea or United but he'd Ony deal with Madrid if the price is right.

The theory that has been presented about RM and Spurs not willing to make the deal official before Spurs have secured replacements doesn`t seem too reliable, if you ask me. I mean the whole world expects Bale to be a RM-player, and the fee is more or less common to everybody too (at least that it is about 100 mill euros). So, I don`t think Spurs are holding back information to buy players at a more reasonable price. That sounds too naive to me.

Bale having holiday in Marbella doesn`t mean a shit to me. No more than that means Bale is not playing games at the moment. Marbella is far away from Madrid. I think all this is a question about money and a expected deal which is far away from been agreed and signed. Do Madrid have all this money? Do they need investors from outside? Are they considering Suarez now instead?

I think that if the deal was agreed, some more reliable rumours would have leaked out to the world. I still think RM have problems with coming to an agreement with Levy!

Nothing's changed then really. The whole window has seen conflicting ITK.

I don't think the deal is done. If it was then Madrid would be all over it and AVB wouldn't say in the press he expects him to be in training tomorrow.

The only person who knows what's going on in all of this is Levy. The press have been repeatedly wrong, saying that Bale will sign over and over again and he's yet to sign. The ITKs have been divided on the issue this summer and it's hard to know who to believe.

I try not to read into any of this because we know that Real Madrid want Bale and we know that he would like to move there, but in the end, Levy has his price and it doesn't look like he's moving from it. We'll just have to see if they're willing to meet it.
