Am I the only one who cares infinitely less about this than I do about sorting the Lamela deal out and pressing on with other exciting signings?

This "Bale saga/Balegate" is seriously inconsequential to me now, I'm all about the rebuild of the squad and who Franco and DL are going to come up with next.

If there is any rage from GB, it should be directed at Real Madrid for not doing enough to get the deal done!

Exactly, if you're raving about him so much then pay the dosh if you really want him. Don't talk the talk if you can't walk the walk.

I don't think there's anything dishonest or cowardly about Bale's silence. He's just keeping as low a profile as he can until the move is complete.

His agent has obviously been briefed to help make the move happen but that's fairly inevitable.

I think it will be a real shame to turn against one of our best ever players and the transfer world record breaker just because he's made a move to Real Madrid happen.

If it's true that he hasn't turned up for training then I'm afraid that changes things.

Under the cloud of this media circus/farce, there were players pouring blood, sweat and tears into a match on Sunday for our club whilst he was pissing around in a pool in Marbella. There was also a manager who gave him so much freedom last year to help make him the player he is. They're all back in training today. If he was expected there and hasn't turned up, it's a big fuck you not just to the badge, but to the manager and all of his team mates. That's massively disrespectful and he should be ashamed.

People in here have been going on all month about how much bullshit is coming from the press, so why are people now believeing this Bale "frustrated and sulking" bollox?

I honestly think that Bale's head is spinning right now. He might actually really want to stay with Spurs for another year, but is being put under so much pressure by his advisers and RM with a "now or never" offer. Maybe he has really been given time off and away from the club to get his head sorted. He isnt any use to anyone at the moment if he's head is all over the place.

Just my onion ...

Its clear that his agent/Madrid have told him to do so - if indeed he's not turned up and he's meant to be there.

I think if true after erecting stages and selling shirts on the Madrid website, this is just going to f*** Levy and Spurs off even more, meaning Real Madrid deal is even less likely.

Mystery is saying Bale is not due back training until tomorrow over on Tw*tter but could be onion the way it's written:

So GB is not due to train until tomorrow, maybe he's in Cardiff with his family?

(not aimed at you Heinsmit) But so fucking what - its his job and he is still getting paid by us to do it i believe. he needs to go to fucking work.

What annoys me is that even Everton have put their foot down on not letting their best players go... I just want a message from the club one way or the other. Is he going or is he staying?
I think that was more because the offer was insulting (which in fairness it was).

'We don't respond to speculation' speaks volumes, as it dilutes the situation to what it is - speculation. Any word from us will just be spun "Spurs remain belligerent even though Bale is leaving" "Spurs stick heads in sand" "Levy playing hardball to get more £££"

The reason the club hasn't come out with a definitive 'he's not for sale/he is for sale' statement, in my opinion, is because both situations can happen.

We don't want to sell Gareth but if we receive an offer which we think is suitable we will sell because it is an unbelievable business deal that nobody could possibly turn down.

Liverpool and Everton can come out and say that their stars are not for sale because even if they received a great offer for their player, it is still a deal which has to be thought about. We get 90million for Bale (a football player at the end of the day!), and there's no thinking about really, its accepted.

So we won't make any statement either way because the opposite could easily happen and we don't want to look like idiots.

See how his sponsorship deals go when he doesn't play for anyone other than our U21S all year...

Indeed.

'Brand Bale' won't be very commercially viable with him polishing boots. Sadly, I believe his agent has orchestrated much of this but he alone is responsible for his actions. If he has refused to attend training then I, for one, hope Spurs put him in his place. Give in now and it'll be Vertonghen, Sandro, Lloris etc this time next year. Time to make a stand.

Credit to Fellaini and Baines though there. They're not in Marbella, they're at Everton's training ground recovering from the 90 minute shift they put in at the weekend.

Agreed. But I'm not jumping to any conclusions.

All this not turning up for training nonsense could have been avoided. I'm not sure why AVB suddenly slipped up on Sunday and said he expected him back. Just gave Bale/Barrett ammunition to use, by not turning up it spoke volumes. That's even if he was due in today.

Anyway, he hasn't turned up for training for about a month right? Whats new?

Maybe Spurs are playing the Media like the idiots they are (If mystery is correct).

That would be hilarious.

Even Rooney, and despite him acting like a tit to Utd with transfer requests etc last night he looked past that and committed himself to the club who pays him to play.

Not such a big thing that Bale is not there. Sure we know what AVB said at the weekend but maybe they have arranged to side step the media and he meets elsewhere.

If it is true and Manu would pay then right now I would say yes give us Rooney and £75 million and the deal is done. Manu will make a fortune out of the marketing potential of RM in a way that matches the Spanish giants, they can afford a deal like this.

Do you think Everton/Liverpool/Utd would still put their feet down if they were being offered £100m though? I don't.

Best to leave Bale and Levy to get on with it imo, we'll have a great team with or without him.
